if your modem capped @4mbps with 23.5db margin, you can ask technician/tm to set your modem to 5mbps, i think there should be no problem with 5mbps speed.

Sounds serious. Hopefully, TMnet will not implement capping. I just upgraded 4MB package last month, no point of using 4MB if speed is capped at 40kbps. Any 4MB users experiencing same capping issue in Serdang?

WOW. Got rich people in that area? As far as i know, those high end alot vip area like bangsar, taman tun, mont kiara, hartamas, kota damansara, sierramas...

I checked with a few heavy downloaders in that live in those high class places, all don't have experience this capping thing... but there is not much people for me to get feedback from tho...and i'm not sure if they are on leased line, you know, those guarantee speed kind of line, but very expensive... anyone who live in those kind of area using 4mbps experience cap?

i dont know whether tm stupid or they try to make malaysian citizen stupid by choosing normal package.

whole 4mbps now experiencing throttled??.. my speed never exceed 1000kbps after 6pm.

Try change ip range would that do the same?


This throttling are in the area that have FTTH technologies

i cannot change.. my area just 218.111.12.xxx.. 12 only. so sakit hati when i borrow my fren 1mbps speedtest ccan get 1800kbps.. but with my 4mbps username only get 500kbps.. i try not to download anything today.. but still same.. very slow after 6pm~7pm..until now.

You can call 1300889515 and made a complaint during office hour the operator might connect you to Premium TM CS representative feel free to fakap them :-)

^ A question, when u call 1300889515 and state that you're a 4mb user, you're automatically passed on to Premium CS? I've just upgraded to 4Mb but have not called them since..

My line was capped about 2 weeks ago but have since been released. The odd thing is, my rapidshare downloads seems to hover around 80 KB/s (with about 3 simultaneous downloads) but after around 2am, it goes full speed. I wonder if they're throttling rapidshare alone. There's a FTTH box right outside my house too.. LOL! Makes me wonder how much they're gonna charge for it.

Oh, has anyone that has been capped, released and capped again? :-)

wow.. already call n speak with premier CS.. looks like they are less monkey than normal CS. now my complain already sent to what they called.. HBC. i dont know that. almost everyday i called them since last week.. the weird thing, i can download RS premium at full speed 440kB/sec (3 parallel dl) but internet browsing was very slow slow...even maybank2u cannot load sometime. no change if i stop download.. almost cant do anything.. cant pay bill etc etc. but when i start download RS..400kB/sec+.. look like tm forcing me to just download files...

^ Yeah, I'm getting the same issues as well. To be honest, when it comes to browsing, there's absolutely no difference between a 1Mb and 4Mb line. Its only apparent when u download stuffs...and that's when TMNET wants to do capping. Makes absolutely no sense at all. Who subscribes to a 4Mb line for surfing and emails? (I know one..my boss. LOL!)

I'm still waiting for TM to upgrade my account to 4M.It's the third working day from submitting the application.

still slow.. so tm is fakap.. not about throttling now.. its IP.. bandwidth allocated for 218.111 IP is not enough i think..

So far so good no throttling happening to my line

Both 1 Mbps and 4 Mbps are working at 95% of it's capacity 24/7

Now my speed is back to 1.5, no more freeloading on 2Mbps.
It was capped to 2Mbps after I applied for 4Mbps. Technician came, said my line not 4Mbps capable but somehow they didn't revert to previous 1.5Mbps cap... until yesterday when my DSL light kept blinking non stop. Called their 100 line and to cut a story short the technician said my previous DSLAM is problematic so he's gonna change it to a different one. He called it 'A5' as in 'A five'. In verbatim "DSLAM a5 ni memang selalu problem". Whatever that means.

I'm gonna apply again for 4Mbps.
