QUOTE(Acrisius @ Aug 27 2009, 01:31 AM) I opened up my modem in this morning. At first,it displayed at 3Mbps,but after several minutes,it synced up to 4096Kbps.So now my port is really configured at 4M.As the downstream margin is stable on 16-17db,I think it is capable to 4M.So i went to TM point just now and submitted the application of upgrading.I hope they could adjust my account at 4Mbps asap. |

prasys have you checked with your modem status? For me I don't have this problem(yet?), but if this stupid cap thing will soon be implemented what's the point to subscribe 4M, not to mention HSBB.

I've been using 4Mbps for a long time. Recently , it has been going slow on me. I am guessing that they are silently starting to cap because this month I've downloaded over like 80GB worth of stuff

The login name is admin, and password is password by default. Added on August 27, 2009, 4:04 pm QUOTE(prasys @ Aug 27 2009, 03:58 PM) I've been using 4Mbps for a long time. My friends 4 Mbps has been capped he just fakap tm.nut and they unrestored the cap just now i think there's no point using 4 Mbps if they enforced this fakap limitation

Okay , its confirmed. TMNet is silently testing out capping. So you maybe or may not get it. Do test your luck and try to stress your connection , if you do notice slowness after X GB of transfer , then we do know that its for real.

80GB of stuffs isn't much even for 1Mbps. Now we pay more for 4Mbps there shouldn't be any cap! prasys did you try complain to premier cs yet?

QUOTE(cannavaro @ Aug 27 2009, 11:50 AM) Man what a letdown. The technician said my line can only support 2Mbps, despite being one of the earliest 4MBps supported areas. (Taman Tun) Suddenly my speed has been upped to 2Mbps from 1.5Mbps. What if I ask them to change my port, would it be possible to get 4Mbps? I don't get it. I applied for 4Mbps and after I was told the application was approved, I noticed higher d/l speed (from 175k/b max to 210 k/b max) the day after or so. I think they were testing the line or something? Then when the technician came to 'install' my 4Mbps he said my line cannot get 4Mbps. On the service acceptance form my 'SNR Checking' is stated as 14db, and 'Attenuation' is 48db. When I login to my modem: Surely this is good enough for 4Mbps? |

Better to use 2M and get cap than pay for 4M and get same cap I don't get it. no if your snr margin only 20db for 2mbps.. i think you will face a problem if your line set to 4mbps.
i think maybe when yr line set to 4mbps.. yr snr margin drop from 20 to 14. 14 can consider fair..cukup makan la. that why the technician said you cant obtain 4mbps. me for example: 2mbps capped; 32~35db 4mbps capped; 24~28db 6mbps capped; 18~22db 8mbps capped; 10~14db <-- here im facing with frequent disconnection, and when i check modem log's it said DSL lost synchronization. Added on August 27, 2009, 6:35 pmi am already facing slow down in connection. when i check my DU meter.. this month usage is about 100GB in total, UL+DL. and my fren from tm also said that tm now implementing its fair usage. but i dont know how much.. if true.. then better choose 1mbps package.
