actually this proton and subaru thing is ridiculous as they are offering service vouchers, it could have worked when things were uncertain on the abolishment like how Nissan was positioning it. for now, i rather have the cash savings directly since it is certain come 1st June and we know the current price. and you are right, i will not hesitate to walk away from unethical business practises.

Provided they will grant cash savings. Do share which one will.

Edit
I stand corrected. Some actually has dropped price now

In general they usually give few thous sand cash rebate, so i wonder after this price drop do the cash rebate still apply, or else it makes no difference.

whether there is GST or not, don't expect price will fall significantly.
Importer will say i paid GST when bringing the cars, if now no more GST then cost in to the purchase price as SST smile.gif

If follow your advice of buy now, some may regret later.

to clarify on this, let me showcase what i meant by booking now and not being taken for a ride (i adjusted the actual amounts etc):
the car i am planning to buy is RM 343,800 and currently cash rebate offered is RM 20,000 which brings the final price to 323,800. tomorrow my booking will be based on that price incl GST. so technically I have locked the dealer on GST-based price and will indicate that i want processing to only commence on 1 June thus the final price that i will pay is RM 304,000. not exactly slash of 6% yeah cos remember my rebate was based on GST amount so it will be knocked off accordingly (maybe about RM 1200 ie 6% of 20k rebate)

Shall wait and see then. Checked with Sales agent, they dont even have a new car price after GST reduce to 0%
*
When salesmen tell you they don't have the price, they are essentially saying prices will drop.

Really golden window.. But hey, who wants to roll the dice some more and wait out this period? SST rates haven't been announced and it could be lower than previous 10%. Plus z good government might also decide to reduce or even abolish the high excise duties and taxes usually charged on cars.. Further driving the final price down. To roll or not to roll brows.gif laugh.gif

I would advice those buying now to stick to their guns and ask for the additional rebates that would have been offered pre-gst removal. Vote with your wallets.

1)Gst actually lowered import brand tech price. But in general they make more money than sst due to the vast coverage of gst. Gst actually makes our daily consunption higher. Local food etc.

Invoice from oversea supplier got reduction in price ?

Ur transporter or logistics provider reduce their charges?

Can elaborate on the reduction please?..

Unless the government reduces excise duty, any rate of SST will increase car price, no?
The sst introduction is a given, but not excise duty reduction. Is reducing excise duty part of PH's manifesto?
