For online pre-order, I just hope they give an extended warranty program. I've not had very good experience with Asus products, ha ha..
In the glorious days of Windows PDA, I owned an Asus P565 - two days out of the box and the screen had issues... Sent for warranty claim and waited two weeks
Then worked in one company and was assigned an Asus Laptop - 8 months into it the motherboard gave up the ghost... Sent in again and waited close to three weeks
Then bought a Zenfone 5 LTE (A500KL) - also motherboard issues after 3 months and sent in for warranty claim... this time better, got it back in about a week
Was never again interested in an Asus product - till now
Same here. My Nexus 7 tablet (made by Asus) had serious charging issues soon after I bought it. Sent it for repair at Asus Lowyat service center. Believe it or not, the whole thing took almost a year to resolve. In the end tho, they were unable to repair or replace my Nexus 7 and gave me another Asus product to use instead
If one goes to the Asus service center there, almost daily you can see customers getting upset and screaming to the staff. Seems like many have waited a very long time to get their devices back too, ranging from laptops, motherboards to mobile devices.
So it is with some trepidation that I'm keeping tabs on this Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. Hopefully Asus QC and quality of components have improved over the years.
