Haha, yeah, exactly. I’m still on the fence whether to buy my 2018 iPad now or later though.

Haha... i'm also considering to get an iPhone... but 3 months is too long to hold... haish...

But one thing that i always thought is... even the new govt have waived the GST, then i dont think the price will drop since the RRP already included (absorb) the GST...

for example the price of iPhone X 256GB is RM5899... So the new price will be RM5899 - 6% = RM5545.06, am i rite?

As for telco price, it is clear and understood on the prices they quoted are exclusive of 6% GST... so they dont have to revise the price. The only thing is just no need to add the 6% during the checkout...

I think the way they calculate it will be slightly different, and it probably won't be as simple as just -6%. Well, lets see smile.gif

No familiar with Sales tax here but it will replace GST right? So effectively, it would be more expensive? 10% vs 6%?

Yeah, this is my current plan now, for the iPad 2018, although the several visits to Harvey had me interested in the MacBook Pro too.

Haha.
We are on the same boat!
Since iPad 2018 has just been released, I’m pretty sure stock level should still be healthy, even after 100 days.
I will just wait for then.
It’s not like my iPad 2 is broken or anything of that sort.

Apple does not revise the price so often. Only once a year. Even if there is any changes in price due to no GST. It may takes a while before it is effective.

Yeah, possibly in September, after the new iPhone announcement.

What interests me though, is once the GST is zero-rated, the price of everything should no longer reflect the 6% we see in the tax invoice so by default, wouldn’t most things be automatically cheaper?

yes, by rite, it is.

because before GST implemented, bolehland apple products can be cheaper as high as SGD80+ comparing to lion city.

there were one period buying macbook in bolehland is so much cheaper than lion city.

few years back, due to the weakning of MYR, apple revised price 3 times in a year.
two times becos of currency, one time becos of GST.

that's the reason why bolehland price is now higher or same as lion city.
