Problem description:
hello there,

i need help regarding network setup matter. before this i used auto connect so dat my another 4 PC at home can be connect to internet using network HUB.i am using billion bipac modem as given by TMNET.but since last 3 days we cant connect at all.so i've decided to set my modem to a direct line connection (sorry if my network term is wrong,noob in networking here) and set it manually connection by using BRIDGE not PPOE.the YM and SKYPE is working properly but IE/FIREFOX are not working ..cant surf internet.. that's my 1st problem..already check dns server and set it manually and it's right...i dont set any proxy to my browser.. my 2nd problem,how to setup the NETWORK back?i want to link my other 3 pc's and connect to internet..hope u guys understand my question .. i really need some help from expert like u guys to resolve this matter..i would rather pay some money to those WHO CAN SET IT BACK TO NORMAL(SOME ONLY LA,mayb RM10-20..not much la..kawan2 price is OK,student ma) .. PLEASE GUYS PIMPING MY NETWORK!!!

I am using BRIDGE/manual connection - EVERYTHING IS FINE BUT

if i am using PPOE/AUTO DIALER - CAN NOT SURF IE/FIREFOX.YM and SKYPE is OK

ANYONE FACING THIS problemm..anyone know how to resolve??

!!PROBLEM SOLVED !!

at last i managed to resolve this matter .. so i would like to give SIMPLE INSTRUCTION to overcome this problem for those who might have the same PROBLEM:



CASE :

PPOE MODE IS BROKEN.CANT SET TO AUTO DIALER AND CANT SHARE INTERNET TO MULTIPLE PC'S. ONLY BE ABLE TO CONNECT INTERNET BY USING BRIDGE MODE AND MANUAL DIALER by SINGLE PC

PERIPHERALS :

BILLION ADSL2 5112S MODEM ROUTER
16 PORT Z-TECH SWITCH

SOLUTION STEPS :

1)SWITCH OFF ALL DEVICES AND UNPLUG ALL CONNECTION BETWEEN ROUTER MODEM WITH SWITCH or HUB. Let it be RESTED for 5 minutes

2)Now, forget the switch for a while and connect a pc/laptop to the modem router by using network cable and plug the phone line to adsl port..(dont use splitter) and SWITCH ON..let it be stable for 2-3 minutes

3)FLUSH all the setting inside the router to DEFAULT by pressing RESET BUTTON at the modem router and it MUST BE PRESSED AT LEAST 15 SECONDS. i am sure normally we press only few seconds.the trick here ,it only flush the username and password if we pressed 2-3 seconds while by pressing the reset BUTTON for at least 15 seconds it will SET TO DEFAULT MODE.

4)go to IE/FIREFOX and go to ip 192.168.1.254 and RUN WIZARD in QUICK START (Default username:admin password:password)..in the QUICK START, choose PPOE as connection mode and change the username into : yourusername@streamyx and password:xxxxxx.. and next and finish and SAVE it

5)Then restart the PC and try to connect to internet

6)after that OFF THE PC. switch OFF the modem router and CONNECT ALL PC'S TO THE SWITCH and connect the SWITCH to MODEM ROUTER by using NETWORK CABLE.and then turn ON all devices and let the ADSL light STABLE...

7)NOW ENJOY YOUR INTERNET SHARING

set your modem to PPPoE with your streamyx username and password
VPI: 0 VCI: 35 (i think) and encapsulation should be LLC. That's all you need to do.

go to quick start and put the info as informed by spanker.save and test

this one for SETTING NETWORK and auto dialer rite??

yes, this settings will make your modem be in router mode,
and will connect automatically

and your modem, it's in dhcp server mode??

HOW to check dat??

please try put dns server number at tcp/ip properties,

tried oledi..but still d same..huhuh..now actually i'm using my friend lappy got digi broadband wireless..assisting to my beloved streamyx to be settled

got my axtech 600ew today..gonna try it and feel the WIRELESS SENSATION

same problem here but my modem is ZTE ZDSL 831

problem lasted for 2 weeks,dunno what to do!!

now if i want to change it back to how it was, am i to do the same as the instructions above or what???

reset back your modem..ppoe driver having problemm..suspect from virus..so, set to factory default..press it at least 10 seconds..then try connect it to single pc only auto connect ppoe..try 1st..think d problem is quite same
