Hi All,

Seeking advice on what to do on my phlegm that is always building up in my throat only in specific places.

Car:
I'm a Grab driver, I am exposed to many people in my car. I hate cigarette smell but usually the smell go away after the passenger has left the car. No smoking is done in the car. This problem of my phlegm and my body's response trying to cough out the uncomfortableness in my throat has been going on for about a month now. During this month, I have tried:

Changing air filter (It helped from instantly phlegm build up to a slow build up after 15 mins in car)
Drinking Apple Cider Vinegar everyday for a week
Brought car for Anti bacterial fogging services
Used charcoal in car for few days

All the above has failed and my body is still coughing trying to get rid of the phlegm in my throat every time I enter my car. I'm considering to take mucosolvan pills but if possible, I would use this as a last resort. Also I'm actually worried that I'm only suppressing the symptoms and not getting to the root cause that causes my body to produce mucus at my throat area.

Office:
My office is a small office occupying 3 levels of a commercial shop lot. For smokers, there are dedicated smoking area, smokers usually either go out of the office (Ground floor) to smoke or back of the office (Level 1 & 2) to smoke. Back of office is only a small room with a ventilator, if the door is opened to get back to office, the smoke does creep into the air conditioned office.

When I enter my office, I cough non stop trying to cough the phlegm out. I assume this is made worse because from my car (I drive to work)

Previously:

I have this issue as well and taking mucosolvan pills does solve the problem. But this issue is only in office. I'm trying to stay away from pills if possible and only use it as a last resort. Pills are just suppressing the symptoms only after all.

I need advice.

Sounds like you have post-nasal drip. See an ENT for a nasoscope and some meds
