just get my unit yesterday.

When doing web browsing, the CPU and GPU temp is maintained 40 ~ 50 deg C.

I tried to play pubg, and found that the CPU temp goes to 95deg C with enabling turbo boost. Is this temp consider as normal ???

I disabled my turbo boost due to this. It is just too hot for me

Instead of disabled turbo boost, its better to just limit the core clock at 3.2ghz on all core by using throttlestop. So far still capable to run all the demanding games without any performance drop in gaming. Temperature will maintain at 60-70 deg as well..

I did undervolt the CPU via ThrottleStop. But when I run some stress test in XTU, the 'Current Limit Throttling' keep lights up, and then the CPU utilization keep bouncing up and down.
Don't you have this issue?

Im not sure whether XTU can be run with throttlestop undervolting. Im just monitor from the Rivatuner/MSI Afterburner reading during the gaming.. At max, it will only go up to 3.2ghz.
Can you share your FIVR throttlestop setting?
*
I saw someone claimed that it can run on XTU with throttlestop undervolting.
Unfortunately, I already removed throttlestop in my laptop.
I just watched youtube and configured it.

Eh bro. Did u say u run Throttlestop + XTU at the same time on your laptop previously? After u removed one of it, still crashes?
*
I'm just undervolt on Throttlestop and run stress test on XTU lol.gif
The way I removed Throttlestop is, set the core voltage back to default, and then exit it and delete the files, then restart it.
No any crashing occured on my laptop.

Hi peeps, may I ask is this a design or defect??
Actually I got this notebook on 21/03/2019 (Not to mention the service is quick and nice), and everything's fine except this. Then I was like since this did not affect my daily usage and I just accepted it. Until today I found that this corner looks like slightly bigger than two weeks earlier.

Just wanna know whether it's defect or a design?

Hi hshern95, Should you wish to send in your laptop to our office for us to have a look at the issue?
*
Can I send it to your office on June? Because I'm currently overseas.

Hi, I found that my Onyx runs hot while gaming
Is it considered as normal as the CPU temperature goes to nearly 90ish or more than that while playing dota2? I just bought my Onyx 1month ago.. think that the thermal paste still new and workable.

i7-8750H? If yes then you must undervolt since the chip itself runs hot
*
Yea, and I already undervolt around -100mA. Any ideas to reduce the temp?

I'm on the same config. It is normal on stock setup. By the way your 55degrees celcius is MAX or AVERAGE? Try using hwinfo to monitor it in the long run.

Undervolt and create a less power aggressive profile to lower temps down on it. I can even play fortnite at 120hz at 2.4ghz-ish all core with temps maxxing at 67-68.  For more demanding games, clock it to 2.7-3.2 ish. For office use, use throttle stop performance profile then use speedshift to be 150-180 for it to prefer lower clocks rather than sustaining above 3.4ghz.

I'm coming close to 1year of use. I wonder how often people do thermal repaste on laptop. My temps slowly getting uneven now
*
Hi, can you please share with me your TS config?
I got this laptop almost 1 year too. But I just left it aside since was busying on work.

Then I found that my laptop became unstable after reformat.

I found that when my CPU doing heavy task and the temp getting higher, then BSOD appears.
After that, the CPU couldn't recognize the SSD which windows system installed on it.
