It appears that my ONYX still suffer from unexpected shutdown when playing Destiny 2 (Only).
Anyone has a fix? |

So, I had my ONYX sent to the office for BIOS update around 2 months ago which fix the common problem I had before but now, its comes with another problem(s).
1. My ONYX suffers 'windows lag' where when scrolling down the windows, it doesn't respond as fast as it should. This occurs quite common when not charging & when battery percentage is below 60%. Even YT videos need to buffer not because of Internet connection. 2. I noticed that my ONYX has a worse battery life than before. Before, I could run Onenote for around 2.5 - 4 hours. But now, it barely reach 1.2 hours. This post has been edited by Tokio_Hot: May 9 2019, 11:52 PM |

1. When is the battery stock going to be replenish? I was told it would be around 4-5 weeks as I'm in need for battery replacement.
2. Keyboard starting to malfunction with no light illuminating. I have to rely on external keyboard for the time being. Planning to send over the laptop when battery stock arrives. Also planning to do this fix ( https://www.maketecheasier.com/laptop-keybo...-working-fixes/ ) for (at least, temporary) relief. This post has been edited by Tokio_Hot: Oct 31 2019, 10:31 PM |

QUOTE(Asgaard @ Feb 14 2021, 02:26 AM) Avoid illegear at all cost. Yeah, I hate to say this but I would like to join this train too.2 years already enter service centre 4 times. HDD spoilt, battery swollen, motherboard spoilt, Keyboard spoilt, Henge broken. Bought laptop 2 years but 6 months in factory fixing (as of today, still at factory fixing) Dono what chepo battery they using. so many complains their battery always swollen. My 5 years old acer gaming laptop and 3 years old lenovo gaming laptop still working fine as of today Still has 1st gen Onyx. Every year, there's always a problem, from keyboard to battery to BIOS. It's like every year I need to go to Damansara and get it checked up. Recently, handed in this laptop before my warranty expired, already told them problems like constant BSOD (even though its not the KB5001330 update, or I put it wrong) and upon turning on without charging, the laptop would switch on but the screen is not light up for a few seconds....then shut itself down before re-start itself properly. The only way I can avoid the 'switch on problem' is by keeping it charging at all times even when I'm not using it. When taking back this laptop, the guy said it has updated the BIOS, quick reset (which I kinda prefer full reset instead) and should be okay. One week later, BAM! BSOD COMES AGAIN!! Even my 6-year old HP still stands strong. |
