Hello, new member here, just got my Onyx a week ago and I noticed that the CPU temps get toasty pretty quick. I'm getting 98deg when gaming while the GPU is getting 87deg. Is this normal?

QUOTE(Prince J @ Oct 1 2019, 01:55 PM) Hi Killer May i have your serial number to check for you? Will assist. S/N is GK5CP0Z2191600200 QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Oct 1 2019, 01:58 PM) Normal for i7 8750h and could be hotter with 9750h. Depending on what games you play and target frames, implement CPU and GPU boost and clock cap. I'm able to play fortnite at all epic settings 60fps without laptop cooler at around 72degrees max (average 63degrees) via that method. With laptop cooler around 70 ish. Pushing 120fps at 1.3ghz max GPU clock will be around 75-76degrees max-ish. Fortnite doesn't use much CPU anyway so for 6core12thread 8750h, even 2.2ghz max CPU is enough. Other games vary so understanding your game well will help to you minimize temp and noise level. Search this thread and even on main illegear thread for other suggestion from other hot laptop users. I'm using the model with the 9750H onboard. Really surprised me as I'm not used to temps this high, thanks for the input.

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 1 2019, 04:52 PM) 8750H is slightly hotter actually due to minor differences in manufacturing, even though specs look similar Can help you go through some testing if you want to Sure, I would like the help, thanks.
