Hi kyLL, this issue could be caused by the latest Windows 10 April 2018 Update actually and it has happened to a few of other users as well. However, the problem was rectified with a Windows rollback. You can also send the machine to us for the procedure and we can perform a full system scan for the hardware while your laptop is here.

Hi bbhing98, the battery runtime for the Onyx is approximately around 3-4 hours under normal surfing. However, we will introduce a battery back upgrade for the laptop (can extend up to 5-6 hours under normal surfing) but the larger battery will occupy the space of the 2.5" drive slot later.

The color coverage for the standard and the 144Hz IPS panels are 100% sRGB and 99% AdobeRGB, rated at 300nits on peak brightness. However, you can further improve the color output by performing the color calibration procedure which can improve the color accuracy to be as close as the colors on printed material (eg: photo/poster printing).

For the random shutdown bug, I believe that the latest BIOS & EC version will help to resolve the issue. However, the phenomenon would only be apparent on selected configurations of Onyx. For the screen bleeding issue, usually we will rectify by performing a bezel re-adjustment or a screen replacement if it is caused by manufacturing (depends on the root cause & the severity of the issue), hope this clarifies.

Hi nyunyu, we had one customer who reported the same issue this afternoon and it was resolved after a Windows Update has been performed. Therefore, I would recommend you to complete any available Windows Updates to see whether the issue is resolved.


Hi PotatoDado, I believe that the double-registration phenomenon would only be happening upon touching the keycap without fully pressing the keycap for the registration. However if the issue is caused by a hardware manufacturing issue instead, we would be more than glad to perform a complete keyboard replacement accordingly once inspection is done.

Hi nyunyu, we can diagnose the screen once your laptop is submitted later and we can try to perform a bezel re-adjustment/screen re-assemble to see if it reduces/eliminates the behaviour

Hi flarey01, the temperature for the Onyx would be around 74°C for the GTX 1050Ti & 78°C for the GTX 1060 configuration respectively

The temperature levels provided above are observed on the CPU. For the GPU, it would be somewhere around 65°C for the GTX 1050Ti & 68°C for the GTX 1060 configuration respectively.

Kindly note that the average temperature levels were recorded while the laptop is being tested on a flat surface in an air-conditioned surrounding, so YMMV. Can be slightly higher/lower too, depends on the operating environment

Yes, the Onyx keyboard switches are interchangeable, same goes to the keycaps
