Have steering indicator on after start the engine, the steering has now power assist at all, the indicator off after off and restart the engine.

Anyone have this issue before?

I guess the underpowered feel is the lousy CVT... revs but not going anywhere faster...maybe it’s the CVT tuning...🤷🏽‍♂️

Rattling is a trademark of Proton! How can you buy a Proton and not want rattling? Like you go KFC but don’t want eat chicken! 🤣

Lol i think its like go KFC but don't want wait long tongue.gif

Yes, my is Std variant with no rear speakers so that was I did as in photos.

Wiring harness for rear speakers end at B-pillar, can see in photo the cover is removed to access for it. Yes, need additional wires from the pillar to the door. As it is a stock unit only so no need fancy cables. normal speaker wires is enough, easy job for the installer.

Front comp speakers powered by 4ch power amp under the passenger seat (also driving the sub in the boot), while rear speakers as it using original wiring, powered directly by HU. Btw, HU also aftermarket android unit so no more weak sound from usb input like in stock unit.  biggrin.gif
*
u mean standard variant HU (with no screen) USB input weak sound? wat do you mean by that?

I am having a standard variant and i m thinking of adding another 2 rear speakers

is trapo any good?

how much is the cost?

the wirely kedai kereta one i dont like lolol..trapo seen the ads..macam easy to wash
*
Trapo definitely easier to wash and maintain, but lost the premium feel, visually not so attractive, and noisy. Its like when u step on it, there's "tap" sounds. Imagine like walk on ply wood vs walk on carpet. For my MT iriz when i release the clutch to rest, always had the tap tap sounds.

Those coil mats its much more silent and comfortable, but hard to clean for sure. I heard the newer version got another padding?

Iriz received minor change in 2017.
*
ooh in that case yea, i am one of the mc 2017 owners. But standard MT version thus not that obvious on the road. Until now only saw like 1-2 premium models with black top

Okay, got the Iriz finally - bought a used one. Standard 1.3.

The shop only gave me 1 key with remote, another 1 is just key without remote. I think the original owner lost it, and just duplicated the key. The key works though.

Question: how do I lock/unlock the door without using the remote?

Thinking of getting a reverse cam, possibly with a display that can support MirrorLink or AndroidAuto. Anyone has any recommendation?
*
wow so the key without remote can start the car? i thought the remote got immobilizer and need close proximity only can start damnn

there's a key hole at the driver door handle, u need to pop it up and look up for it, not supposed to be used in a regular basis coz the cover is not designed to be repetitively open/close.

when u get one let me know too. Mine currently the reverse cam installed just under the 3rd brake light coz i cant find any direct route to the car plate without removing the bumper rclxub.gif

lol now that u said it... Let me clarify. I tested the key with the original key in my pocket. That could be why it works lol
Try and see lol else really gg coz i saw some posts say that the remote quite costly to find replacement and hard to duplicate.

After Geely acquisition of proton, proton were sending a bunch of engineers to geely other than x70 model team, ie to get better collaboration with geely engineer/team. Source from few friends there in proton.

One of the core planning was to utilize geely engine/gb combo from their pipeline. One of the plan theoretically to put in new iriz/persona etc.

Looking at their planned, it is surprised that the new iriz only gain the speedometer & new hu (with geely collaboration, the speedometer are available on other geely model). See the new iriz, the rest enhancement on this facelift by right, proton can do it by own, only cosmetic on exterior.

Weird proton management still trust the campro vvt with punch cvt combo when most user give bad reviews on that combo.
*
Reminds me of my proton saga LMST. (Lotus Meter Saga Trim) Which only the speedometer change bearing the LOTUS name and collaboration lol .

Hi All, i m planning to change my Iriz MT 2017 MC tyre soon. Stock tyre since 2017 Sep and rotated once around 1 year mark. Planning to change all 4 at once due to wear. I saw online these are the options available, any advice? i am tempted to change my rims to R15 but not too sure whats the impact (cost, higher fuel consumption, less acceleration etc ) . In the same time maybe changing to 185/60R14 is much more economic?

Hmm.. maybe because i'm the one driving this time so i don't really feel it? hmm.gif
On old Myvi i could even get a headache because of the bounciness.

::edit::
just calculated FC from my filled up last week.
RM30 for 190+km which is about 13km/l which is a little bit disappointed because my 1.6 waja campro did 240km+ for RM40 which is just over 12km/l.
Dashboard still show 5-6 km/l. I wonder if i should have SC check the calibration..
*
Dashboard should be showing L/100km, not km/L, different unit

The new facelifted Iriz/Persona can be switched to show km/L on the meter cluster.

Not sure about the older models.
*
oh i see, that's nice, i prefer km/L and real time display.
iriz 2017 MC variant is L/100km and average only hmm.gif

Hi There, new Owner here. Owned the new Iriz 2019 STD MT and just did my first 1000km service. Coming from a 2008 Proton Savvy MT.

Here is my quick pros and cons:
Pros:
1) Solid doors.
2) Well insulated cabin. Pretty quiet from below until the door panel height.
3) Great color. Mine is Ocean Blue.
4) The ride and handling feel is great. Pretty much the same as my Old Savvy but the quietness and comfort is one or two notch above.
5) Great visibility. Not to much obstruction to vision.
6) Cool air conditioning. I rarely use blower more than level 2.
7) Light clutch pedal. This is great coming from a really hard Savvy Clutch but this is due to lack of lubrication maybe.

Cons:
1) Sensors are quite delayed. Can't rely on sensors too much or you will bump into something first before knowing.
2) Acceleration and deceleration is quite sluggish for city drive. Need to press accelerate a bit more(I'm kind of a light footer) and quite aggressive engine braking when you let off a bit on the gas pedal. Maybe this is a VVT engine characteristic that I'm not used to.
3) Gear knob placement is quite off for me for a MT gear knob placement. Also the shifting through gears while on the move is not so smooth as i usually face a bit of difficulty shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear.
4) Side windows are too thin maybe. Most of the noise that enters the cabin usually from the windows. I often reach for my power window button thinking i did not roll up the windows completely.
5) Noisy stock tires. This is a bit of a compromise maybe to keep the price low.

Overall quite happy with my decision of purchasing this car. Easily the best bang for buck for hatchback city cars. biggrin.gif
*
cons 1 : and i thought they fixed that lol. Saw few forum-ers complaint and my own 2017 mc edition also has this lag. Guess it runs in the family
cons 2 : on the low gears quite obvious? coming from a saga 2007 LMST driver, i feel its kinda the same, so i always keep the clutch in when depress accelerator

Yeah. Guess still have to rely on the rear view mirrors.

Usually the aggressive engine braking happens in 2nd or 3rd gear even though i gently release the gas pedal. Don't know whether the transmission, engine or throttle input not accurate. Your clutch doesn't wear out fast meh you're doing like that. I stopped doing that when I watched Engineering Explained says keeping clutch in will wear out clutch bearing.
Anyways I noticed that I can hear the clutch bite. Not loud just a little bit grinding noise.
*
oh is it? become a habit of mine to clutch in when ready to slow down or shift to N. Else the engine braking makes the car really jerky which feel like more stress on the transmission. Not pro enough to know lol

Yeah I used to do that all the time too. Now only do that when a car is tailgating me. I'm not pro either just learning the stuffs on Youtube. Still can't do the heel-toe though.
is it coz you using stock pedals?
been doing that for a while until forgot how i slowed down then continue accelerate last time haha

I wrote a complaint email to Proton and PM their FB page.

Btw guys, do I have the right to ask for a refund for the wheel alignment which does not fix my EPS problem?

My wheel alignment has nothing to do with the EPS malfunction, they did not diagnose properly and simply charge me RM63.60 for wheel alignment.
*
quite unlikely, don't think u can get refund from a service offered, it's not like u can undo the alignment and get refunds rclxub.gif

Guys, do you able to turn your steering wheel like this with minimum effort?

user posted image

I think my steering wheel still has the same problem, my steering wheel is heavy to turn, it is impossible to turn my wheel with 1 hand.
*
Funny that for me i find it kind of effortless to turn with 1 hand? rclxub.gif
Maybe my steering cover have better grip and when using 1 finger, i usually hook with my thumb instead of palming on it, don't have complains with it specially during parallel parking
