This slide from last year looks to be pretty accurate about their new model lineup. First being the X70, this year X50 and 2020 being a MPV. Seems like Iriz 2.0 is in their launch plans in 2021.

[attachmentid=10195689]

A new engine+GB combo is just one part in making it competitive with Myvi. They also have to consider space, practicality and feature set which the current Iriz is behind compared with the 3rd gen Myvi. So an all new model would be necessary if they want to catch those volume sales that P2 enjoyed for so long.

this show that proton will repeat the x70 plan, ie take Geely model and install it here. rather than building it up from scratch.

There isn't any existing Geely model that is an equivalent to what the Iriz or Saga is now. So if the plans to replace these models by 2021 do happen it won't be a rebadged product, rather a Proton-developed car with a shared platform and powertrain from Geely.

still prefer old bunga raya rim..

anyway, tall boxy chassis is outdated already.

last time we always laugh at myvi even we had similar design because we had way better ride and handling where we can drive better and not turtle as easily..

but these days, the tall design really tak boleh pakai dy. suddenly makes iriz and this new facelift iriz look so so so outdated.

edit: im glad i went for myvi 2019 then.. before this i was deciding to get a 2nd car and it was between get back an iriz or go for new myvi. i was seriously considering waiting for this 2019 iriz but then i decided to just give new myvi a try instead..
*
Hahahahaha.. you still had the consideration on getting a iriz?
Which means that you don’t have any issue regarding engine pinging/knocking noise problem?

Guys, us there a safe way to strip house paint on a car?

Last week got a small lorry getting a paint job. Owner which i dunno who paint it at the car park. My house parking are free park. The last weekend i realize my car got few splash of white paint. I thought its bird poo. Now i dunno who the culprit and the lorry is no where to be found.

Now i really mad but things already happened. I need to fix this but the only way that i know is by using 1000 sand paper. Should be fine but certainly will damage the clear coat. Anyone can suggest me good scratch remover?  Or other methods to solve this?

Many thanks in advance sad.gif

Try nail polish with high Acetone content.. Use a cotton bud to apply only on the unwanted paint and quickly wipe of with clean cloth..

Let's hope for a Saga + hatch and Persona + hatch lineup from Proton with help from Geely + Volvo.

Honestly, they do make good cars, just that the aftersales sucks and they never fulfill customer demands... whistling.gif

Mine got when going up those ramp carparks..

The sound will come when engine below 2k rpm..

Those metal sound like driving old rusting falling apart cars right..

Overall, still is a good value car.

The driving pleasure + safety is still unmatched.

Just that its quite outdated already in terms of features and looks, and proton (at the time of my planned purchase, which was 2 months ago) no longer giving discounts or other goodies like free maintenance, etc..

So thats why i went with myvi instead..

More value for money over the current iriz

read that many Geely also uses Punch

So the new Iriz retain the punch but have improvements based on Geely's feedback between them and Punch to improve

to believe or not? we will need to wait hehe

When did the VT3+ units started the improvement exercise? The flywheel and damper replacement? Is it after geely took over or before? The new units behave very well.. much less hesitation...

Hi, sorry if it's a noob question. Do iriz utilize spark plugs cable? Or it's just relying on ignition coil w/o distributor?
