Wah takut they void your warranty if like that.
*
If u dont change plugs at the recommended time, then come in and complaint engine problem, u think they wont check? 1st thing they'll do is check for services carried out before this.. and proton have all service history online...

Warranty claims also depends on ur standing with the service center u frequent at.. if small2 things, they'll overlook it and help u expedite it if ur in good standing with them..

My car went over a rather huge cement block and part of its side (towards the rear end) skirting got chipped off as a result. I know it's not something very serious but where should I go if I want to get it replaced? Do SCs offer such services or do I have to go to private workshops? My worry with the latter is whether they can match the paint colour with the rest of the car. Thanks. [attachmentid=9863317]

SC quoted RM 500+ (side skirt RM 300+; paint job 200+) for the replacement.

Since most likely SC would also outsource the job to outsiders, my suggestions would be to get the parts from Parts Centre then spray outside if costs is an issue...

Else, just go ahead with SC for a peace of mind...

In the end of day, most likely the colour will not match but hopefully it’s not noticeable since only skirting...

Paint age, before and after spray, even if using same code since the difference in paint's MFG date and paint job's date. The effect will become more apparent as the times goes, even more so if on different material (metal vs abs).

One way to somehow reduce it by using custom mix paint that shop can blend and set it to match the old paint as close as possible.

Experience with Iriz
I'm planning to buy a 2015 Iriz in a couple of months, but I'm worried about the maintenance cost and spare part prices. Will there be any problems after a certain amount of mileage ? Please tell me your experience with the Iriz.

Spare parts is typical Proton “affordable” price, so should be no problem...unless Geely have something else to say about this...

Maintenance costs can be an issue...just make sure you allocate additional RM100/month on any surprises Proton throws at you when servicing like (every 30,000KM)🤯;
Gasket Oil Pan (RM71.20)
Aircond Minor Service (Compressor Oil - RM169.60)

My usual problem is replacing of the third brake light bulb every alternate service (RM7.54) and also the CVT update which does not last (need to reconfigure every alternate service)...😰

On a separate note, was aggressively attacked by Alzas today and 1 finally got me;

Wonder how much to fix... 😪 Good news is maybe can get New Iriz front...

yo..
so my lil bro is gonna take over my car..

and now im considering to get another car.
i have no plans to upgrade to a honda/toyota or anything. i wish to keep budget <60k and use the extra money for other better things than spending on a car.

so idk to get back iriz or the new myvi.

what are your thoughts?

what i've like the iriz so far after owning for 3 years is
1) safety and solid driving. i actually enjoy driving this car a lot. and im quite a heavy footer, so the iriz's sturdiness gives me a lot of confidence actually.

2) related to the point above, driving on highway at 100+ km/h the car feels very planted, the steering is tight and grippy, etc. proton's car handling is really top notch.

3) so far no major or minor problems (apart from the god forsaken poor QC and build quality like dashboard and door rattling, etc)

what i've disliked:
1) petrol consumption (its utter shit. same FC as my 2.0 Sonata at home, for a 1.3 car?? smh.)

2) poor build quality or quality control, dashboard/door rattling. unaligned glovebox, etc.

3) routine servicing. idk how much better perodua's is, but everytime i send my car for service (every 6 months), it takes 3 hours+ just for a simple routine engine oil change. so i feel that everytime i need to send my car for service which is basically twice a year, i need to spend like 1 entire day at the SC.

Dear forumers and owners,

I am wondering if the security of the Iriz is good enough without extra lock needed?

If not, i am looking the best and convinient extra lock for Iriz for security purposes.

I am thinking the pedal lock but i read some reviews from Iriz owner, they said may void warranty even with Y socket and the immobilizer from the pedal lock affect the electronic system where error warning came up due to Y socket.

I was thinking to use pedal lock without connecting the Y socket. I am not sure if there is any pedal lock that come without the socket.

I welcome any input from the owners to suggest any extra lock system to be used in Iriz.

Thanks.

No idea why...PESC just decided to change it at 60k KM routine service...
Am asking WeCare through email but the reply is typical Proton snail pace..
Total labour was RM165.36

The Iriz facelift is coming, so maybe you’ll want to wait for that since this is supposedly under the “new” management direction...

On the looong waiting time, it’s the service centre...see if you can go to another or go to the new light blue coloured 3S/4S dealers since the price is now standardised...

So far so good...
I guess where you park your car also plays a big factor...
Besides, guess this model is not very high up the list since Iriz reviews and owner feedback is so poor with second hand value so low..

Did the periodic CVT maintenance...my query to then was that if this was a mandatory change, why hide it from owner in the website?

Yup...it’s not reflected at their website;

Your answer makes sense and they can always advice customer that there might be a need to replace since work is done there..
But when I queried, they couldn’t answer properly until now...worse still was this was charged when with SA before car was sent in, which basically means it’s an item that has to be replaced...

Good day all, after lurking in various Proton threads for a while decided to purchase an Iriz.
Was about to get a secondhand car with the likes of Persona/Preve/Iriz but I got a deal for unregistered 2016 1.3 Executive MT variant at my local Proton showroom. I grabbed the offer because I am looking to purchase a car within 30k+++ budget.

(FYI, 2017 Iriz 1.3 Standard MT is beyond my budget as the OTR price is around 40k ++ here in Borneo, hence I wouldn't consider that)

Any things I should watch out for, since it's not driven for 2 years (technically a 2-year showroom car hmm.gif) ?

New batteries, check the engine oil and coolant...
Well.. thats supposed to be done during PDI.. Anything else u can check before signing for the car.. and ask them to rectify it before taking delivery..
5 years is still intact from date of purchase... so, less worry there..

hi guys. would upsizing to 195/55R15 (from 175/65R14) would affect my speedometer and scratch fender?

or should I upsize to 185/55/R15 or 195/50/R15 instead? but this size iinm is more uncommon

If the offset is right, it wont, because 1.6 are on 195/55R15..
