Hi guys, any idea how to turn off the Iriz DRL light while the lamp is at OFF ? sometimes I'm in the car idly parking in front of the cafe , it shines the customer inside.

Greetings sifus.

Has anyone encountered this kind of situation before? A puddle would appear underneath the pedals whenever it rains. Had this problem with Gen2 before too yet it has never been resolved.

Hello guys,

My car has a weird metal grinding/knocking sound when moving.

Upon checking by proton mechanic, they said it's the CVT gearbox problem.

They quote me a whopping RM6800 to replace a new CVT gearbox. sad.gif

My car 7 year-old, milage is 75 000km.

The car is still driveable.

Is there any shop in Klang Valley that can repair it for cheaper price?

Hi,

Need advice.
Currently my Iriz front tyres is showing symptom of bald on the side thread; uneven wear on tyres.
Another symptom is vibration and noise when going through uneven roads/potholes.
Sent to SC and was quoted to change below items:
1. FR absorbers ~RM1.1k
2. Stabilizer link RH, LH
3. Stabilizer bar bush
4. Steering rack ~RM1.1k

Due to budget constraint, I plan to change one of the items (either 1 or 4) quoted depending on which is more severe.
Is it compulsory to change all together at one go?
Appreciate sifu advice.

Thanks in advance.

I see.

It just took me by surprise that changing a gearbox will cost this much, I'm not sure if it's worth repairing anymore.

Welcome to CVT gb. One rosak, this is the price range, rm4k-7k. If it is normal auto with gear, it is sure more reliable, and if it rosak, can change the malfunction gear only, this will cost much lesser than repairing cvt gb. I already run away from CVT car under me

Just a quick question. If you click the ESC button, the ESC somewhat still show up on certain situation.

Is there anyway to totally shut it down?

Just a quick question, what is the bulb size used for rear light where signal and reverse light?
user posted image

Also same question the rear brake light too, the one on the middle.

Thinking to convert mine to LED
*
Not sure if you still need this info, mine currently converted to fully LED and results are pretty good smile.gif
Here are the model listing from shopee of the LED i bought

H11 55/60Watt LED for Headlamp
HB3 60 Watt LED for High beam
H8 LED for Fog Lamp
T10 W5W (amber LED for signal lights at side mirrors)
T10 W5W (white LED for plate number & position lamp)
1156 BAU15S PY21W 150degree for signal light (Amber bulb for front rear signals)
T15 W16W (Red bulb for third brake light)
T15 W16W ( White bulb for reverse light)

-A few sharing of my conversion, signal light if use too long (above 2 minutes) will have Error and hyperflash, even using the so called "error free/anti hyperflash" bulbs. Perhpaps some other brands can work.
-For Iriz newer than 2018 using reflector type lamps, LED headlamp might cause glare to others.
-If you are still using halogen bulb for fog lamp, change to super bright LED, day and night difference! but be aware may cause glare also.
-Used philips H11 headlamp and then LED starts failing within 2 years of using. Life time might not be as great as halogen ones.

Update:

So I went to several workshops to survey the prices.

A recond gearbox is around RM4500.

Some workshop say I only need to change the gearbox bearing, which is around RM1500 including labour.

Hey, thanks for replying.

Just to share my feedback on what happen to my car.
Thing are a little bit different between your car and mine which is the current version.

Newer iriz using H7 light as well and high light

[I tried to change signal light to LED, however I have the hyperflash issue. The shop tried to use canbus bypass however it does not work. So i current using back original light
The shop was keen to push his "very bright" led light but have to back off as he himself cant solve the hyperflash issue
Apparently the wiring between newer and older iriz was different.

-For Iriz newer than 2018 using reflector type lamps, LED headlamp might cause glare to others.
Previously changed to LED and yes it sucks quite bad, end up getting a total headlamp refit (eg a projector module in place of original location) in one of the workshop in Sunway, not cheap but its way superior over stock projector and LED drop in
However, my high light i still retain halogen but I replaced with Philips Gran turismo +200% bulb

-If you are still using halogen bulb for fog lamp, change to super bright LED, day and night difference! but be aware may cause glare also.
Not really applicable for me as newer iriz no longer have fog lamp which was replaced with LED strips

-Used philips H11 headlamp and then LED starts failing within 2 years of using. Life time might not be as great as halogen ones.
Not really applicable to me but the shop who does the retrofit have 4 years warranty so hopefully nothing goes wrong.

Seems like they are also workshop that claim they "upgrade" the gearbox using parts from Mini Cooper version of the transmission.
Is it true? Since like one cant really open up the gearbox and check if there any parts are upgraded or just some lip service.

Seems like its do-able, my question is how would the owner know the difference between box stock proton punch trans vs Mini punch, surely a new transmission (rebuild or brand new) would feel way better than the trans prior being serviced.

Some workshop may claim this and that but end of the day they did not do anything extra but yet claim its upgraded. hmm.gif

I see, i guess still no suitable bulb for the hyperflash issue. I remain using it because its so bright until ppl cannot complain cannot see my signal light haha.

I retrofitted fog lamp to my 2017 MC version coz that version also no longer offer foglamps, but the bumper still got allocation.

I see. Coz i see from shopee the Philips LED i bought it mention 12 months warranty so didnt bother to ask for it.
