The main purpose of my UPS is because my house always have power interruption, right b4 a lightning strike, my house power have very high chance of trip, while my neighbor still have power, im not sure why, but ppl suggest me leave it alone. So i am getting UPS for this reason, to continue to use my pc during the thunder storm.
1) Change the RCD to a better brand type which have nuisance trip prevention. ABB is 1 of the example.
2) Install a surge protector in the DB beside the RCD. It help to absorb and divert the surge lightning away.
3) Look for the earth rod box. Plunge another earth rod in as deep as possible. Connect the existing earth wire on it.
4) Plunge another earth rod. Either behind your house or far away from the 1st earth rod. Connect another earth wire into it and lay the earth wire to others wall socket point. (best if your PC wall socket)
This all should help you reduce alot of nuisance trip. And cheaper too with DIY.
This is my experience.
