And i also think Public Bank should just do away their regular ATM card (the one that is only supported at MEPS ATM). While Public Bank will now issue the Day2Day VISA Debit cards to all their new customers, we can actually still choose if we want the regular ATM card at RM8/pa or Day2Day VISA Debit at RM12/pa. I also hope Public Bank will seriously reconsider the design of the Day2Day VISA Debit Card. I mean the card design is only suitable for teens and young adults. Imagine our 50-year-old mother/father pull out the card from their wallet, that is just weird  laugh.gif  May be something like the EON Bank debit Mastercard would be great  smile.gif

Yeah, Day2Day VISA Debit card is not very suitable for older generations.
Maybe they won't be applying for this card in the first place because of the design. rolleyes.gif I'll tease my granma if she uses it, haha..

See? Designs are very important.. Oh, just wanna know. I tried to pay AirAsia ticket today, (just trying with being the money in my card is smaller than the amount to be paid), they'll decline the transaction instantly ya?
Which one is better?
Getting the monthly physical statement or by online?

Yes. It will be declined right away.

I personally did not subscribe for the monthly printed statement. I believe they will charge you RM2 or RM5 a month if you request for it. Actually observing your debit card transaction online is enough. No need for a printed statement.

they do charge for monthly statement?
you mean PBVE?
lol..i tried to use it to buy stuff in yesasia-that time,i ordered something, and confirm the payment also.but they don't have stock,so they refund to me and its in authorized payment something like that and that time my account left, lets say RM100 and the authorized payment is RM150.
the next order i order from yesasia is RM120.i need to wait the bank to refund back into my account only i can use it... T_T
so,you can't 'cheat' as they can check if you have sufficient balance or not

You need to subscribe to Public Bank online banking. For Public Bank VISA Electron user, you need to manually register or add that account to your existing online banking account at any Public Bank branch. As for Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card user, you can register for your online banking account via the ATM. If you are not sure how to do it over the ATM, then it is better that you just walk into their branch so someone could help you smile.gif

No. I mean for Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card. For Public Bank VISA Electron, a printed statement will be mailed to you every month free of charge.

Yeah. It works just like a credit card. The difference is that with credit card you are using the bank's money whereas you are using your own money with debit card. All credit cards come with a credit line. Let say my CIMB Bank Gold Mastercard has RM10,000 of credit line, the maximum i can spend on the card is RM10,000 only. Once you have used 80% of your credit line (RM8,000) and you want to use it to pay for something that is RM3,000, the payment will be declined because you do not have sufficient credit line.

I see.. Just follow the guide at PB's site, get the pin at the ATM right?
I think am going to apply for online statement because every time I did a transaction, I would love to see the balance inside my card.
It's not very convenient for me to go and check at the ATM everytime.

Thanks Nana.. The online statement can be viewed for 6 months right? I think I read it somewhere.
After that? The record is gone or what?

For PBB Day2Day VISA Debit you can apply it via ATM. As for PBB VISA Electron, you need to walk into any PBB branch to get their staff to apply for e-banking for you.

If that's so, I'll definitely going to PB tomorrow. Oh, another thing to ask. Is it normal that after a day of doing an international transaction, when you check the card at ATM it shows the amount to be paid to that merchant, and your money hasn't been deducted yet?
How many days it take to be cleared?

Yes. That's normal. Just like when we swipe our credit cards, the amount charged to the credit card won't appear in our online statement until a few days later. It usually takes 2 - 3 working days.

Thank you.. =) Since you are using credit card too, do you ever think or afraid to do the transaction?
I mean, the card number is stolen by others.
Is this possible? Even though the transaction's doen at a secure https, I still have the feeling oh tongue.gif

Well, i started using credit card since February last year. Have done many purchase online using my credit card. So far no problem.

It is very easy for one to steal your credit card number. In all the receipts kept by the merchants, they have all your credit card/debit card number printed out on the slip. But don't have to worry too much lah laugh.gif

Heard from a very reliable source that Maybank will soon introduce a new Debit Card. No details though.
