haihs... just went to stanchart to go and open my own e$avers account.... went all the way to taipan, the lady told me that the system down, so have to come back tomorrow... cis....

anyways, i remember someone asking whether if you are an existing stanchart account holder if you can apply for the debit card.
the answer is no.
i also have a normal savings account with stanchart, but in order to get the debit card, you must open an e$avers account.
no minimum amount for opening, no other costs except RM8 per annum for the card.

hope this helps. i personally was very much helped by this thread.

its easy..go to http://www.standardchartered.com.my/

then login for Online banking...opss...but u must register first...registration must be made at the bank customer service counter at any branch of Standard Chartered Bank ...u will be given one time activation code in the same day through sms once you register....just follow the registration instruction...no charge for registration ! rclxms.gif

& u set to go online !!

u can track your spending record...balance & can even transfer money to other bank....just like maybank2u & cimbclicks....but for sure it has less features than what maybank & cimb had offered...

only the transaction inthe last one month is showed in the website...but they still give me the hardcopy account statement everymonth eventhough i already sign up for online banking...

for example, even u just come back from Carrefour buying groceries(using the card to pay), u can already check your transaction online....very fast one ! except for preauthorised such as fill up petrol at the pump....it will need at least 2 or 3 days for the transaction to be comfirmed...they will hold your money (RM150 for petrol)..huhu..that's why i always pay at the cashier counter when fllling up petrol..... nod.gif

for me, cashless shopping. haha...scared to bring around big amounts of money when shopping ma. since malaysia's crime rate is going up, rather just use a card.

well, i save all the banks customer service numbers in my hp. just in case i lose my wallet. at least can call all the banks to block the card.

is anyone who is using the standardchartered debit card having any problem to use it for paypal? i'm currently having a problem with the expanded use facility in paypal. i have already ensured that i have money in the account (RM500).

paypal requested for the expanded use which cost USD$1.95. when i click "Get Number", i get this error message saying that they're unable to verify it and all that. however, when i check my account online, they've already deducted the money!! anyone can help?

I just found out this thread...

well just wanna ask,
I just bought NexG card 2 weeks ago, submitted the form but still no news from them..
and I dont dare to load up any credit yet..
i scare if I've loaded I cant use the credit...

Is it safe to load up ??

and I heard that NexG wasnt really that good...
So is MOL Freedom better than NexG ?

Cos I will be using the card for buying jerseys from online megastores...

Which is better, NexG or MOL Freedom ??

thanks in advance..

I'm having the Standard Chartered Bank e-Saver debit card, but i didn't get the interest rate as suggested at at high percentage. what happened?

and my purpose to apply this card simply for online bookings, otherwise i cant make bookings for anything. petrol i prefer pay cash and wont affect my savings. haha

and one more thing, i found that it's hard to do transactions for standard chartered while the branch is less. so i hav to go ipoh road or Lot 10 there ..... aiks

not yet, but I've sent them email..
Cos I just hate to call customer service...

Anyway, is MOL Freedom better then NexG ?

If yes, I think I'll be getting it later since there's no credit loaded up yet...

and usually how long does it takes to done with the registration ??
I mean after I've submitted the form, do I have to wait for their reply then only I can use the card or
I can use the card immidiately after I've submitted the form ?

thanks, =)

Hmm.. I see. Hope that they will process your application in no time. For my case .. TuneCard takes about 2 weeks time and its done ! smile.gif
Judging on the features that is provided by the MOL Freedom MasterCard ... seems pretty ok to me .. comes with basic necessary services that we need.. As for the timing to process ur application .. I'm not sure how long will it take. Maybe you can give it a try wink.gif
