An update guys, apparently the Primacy 4 has been launched in Thailand for the ASEAN market.
Check several tyre shops and it's true the stocks are here and more sizes will be arriving later. Early adopters can share their experience and price? I will do so once I have changed mine at year end. |

Seems like the Primacy 4 has just launched in Malaysia.
The official link also contains the retail price based on the size of the tyre. Link |

If not in a great hurry, just wait a while for my sizes and volume to be available. Just like the ps4, the prices will gradually adjust downwards.

QUOTE(niterider @ Jul 30 2018, 08:54 AM) Just changed to primacy 4 . Now my car feel much quiet and comfort when drive over uneven roads. It is best overall performance ! Let it settle a while for about a month, the compound will harden slightly after that. Then only you make assessment. Good buy though |

I was choosing between Goodyear Performance SUV and Promacy 4. I'm on 18 inch rims.
When I discovered that the price was the same for both I chose Primacy 4. Had it since Mid August and already done 4000km. The first impression I had was that the tires were silent. It was so silent compared to my old TOYO's. AND it soaked up road imperfections (provided you get your balancing right). The shop that I changed screwed the balancing and I had to go to another shop to fix that. I'm now able to enjoy my music more because the tires were so quiet. The braking power was also superb (37psi / 255kpa). The car stopped much shorter than before. The tires also helped me save some fuel as the tires help my car glide on the road and I press less often on the accelerator now. I this its a combination of the tires my my Qmax Turbo. |

Decided to try this tyre over PS4.
So far my preference is this tyre over PS4 due to comfort and noise. Price I get around RM 350 for 215/45/17 |

Decided to change my tyres over today morning. 4 pieces at 1192, Hin Leong (valve, alignment and balancing). 205/60/16. One of the lowest price after surveyed 5-6 shops. Cons is I needed to wake up early and reach the shop cuz worried alot of ppl.
Surprisingly, after I'm done in an hour's time, not super packed as claimed in the internet which I expect 2-3 hours. Felt not much difference from my oem Toyo to be honest. After a few weeks will share more. |

QUOTE(Kimmers @ Oct 5 2018, 11:31 AM) I was choosing between Goodyear Performance SUV and Promacy 4. I'm on 18 inch rims. So, you use sedan tire Primacy 4 for SUV? I am thinking about it for my CRV 18".When I discovered that the price was the same for both I chose Primacy 4. |

Hi guys,
I am currently using Bridgestone Turanza T005A. How the Primacy 4 compare with the T005A, in terms of noises and comfort level ? I prefer silent and comfort tyres. |

I'm currently considering Primacy 4 for 225/50R17. Anyone using this size? How long can P4 last for this size? My current S001 RFT is coming to an end at 37k km.

I just fitted 4pc Primacy 4 on to my E36 325i. 205/55R16. Will report back my long term review. So far done 3,000km on this Primacy 4 and I have been quite impressed. It is much quieter, comfy than than the Goodyear Assurance triplemax which came with the car. Coming from PS4 on my other rides I feel the grip of these P4 are not too bad unless you really push hard into corners and try to get the rears to slide out on purpose. Kinda hard to drift my rear wheels with the high Grip even when raining. So far aquaplane resistance during heavy rain is not bad, just not as good as the PS4. But over all long term will need to test it out and report back. All my other rides have been running on Pilot Sport 3 and then to Pilot Sport 4. In future will change them to Primacy 4 or T005A and see how it compares. 225/45R17 245/40R18 265/35R18 So far PS4 have lasted me average of 30,000KM +- for the above sizes I have used on my different cars. Now looking for more comfort, quiet and long lasting tyres. Hope these Primacy 4 will last 50,000km or more gold member liked this post

QUOTE(HalseyFrangipane @ Oct 5 2021, 08:00 PM) Fancy seeing you here!a bit on the squishy side for sidewall stiffness, however understandable being a jack of all trades where comfort and overall NVH is also important. among the best all rounder UHP you can get so long you don't mind paying the michelin pricing premium, however if you're more accustomed into upper UHP or better categorized as EHP, extreme performance, where many older gen car guys may call them semi slicks locally when it isn't actually semi slicks, then yeah dry performance at the upper limits, higher speeds/higher g's etc especially if the tires gotten too hot and air pressures swell, confidence does take a beating. i am still running the same 1 and only set of Michelin PS4 on my FR/RWD and looking forward to my next UHP which definitely wont be a Michelin (not that PS4 is bad, i just want to try out others and with pandemic mileage being very low, that is even more difficult) HalseyFrangipane liked this post

So far I've only had dsc kick in once due to my own poor throttle control in the wet. As for next set of tyres for the daily, I'd try out Hankook S1 Evo3. Seems like it has the best value and price to performance ratio at the moment like the V12E2. Quazacolt liked this post

QUOTE(HalseyFrangipane @ Oct 6 2021, 01:03 AM) I was actually referring to the Primacy 4 haha, but good to know your feedback for PS4 as well. no problem! i was in doubt since Primacy isnt usually associated with high speed and cornering, however fortunately for us, i also have Primacy 4 on my wife's HRVI've been using PS4 for my daily and I have no complaints. So far I've only had dsc kick in once due to my own poor throttle control in the wet. As for next set of tyres for the daily, I'd try out Hankook S1 Evo3. Seems like it has the best value and price to performance ratio at the moment like the V12E2. lets just say, even more squishy since comfort priority tires. cornering, between the old and dead ish long stroke family compact SUV body, and the jelly like tires, they don't inspire confidence at all. however, you still can take some decent corners without even triggering very sensitive Honda VSC if you don't mind the lack of feedback on steering and body rolling. if you do want to have some occasional spirited stints/maneuvers, PS4 would still easily be more worth it than Primacy. It really should only be reserved for family oriented sedated or even slow commuting. both tires pricing are about the same with PS4 being slightly more expensive obviously. Rain performance about same, only dry the Primacy would lose out a lot. on the positives side, NVH comfort etc the primacy will easily have the PS4 beaten. QUOTE(ry8128 @ Aug 31 2021, 01:25 PM) Still deciding between primary 4 and turanza t005a for my car. Any actual users able to provide any feedback on this 2 models? Primacy 4 for comfort and long distance driving.PS4 for more spirited driving. Both handles similarly in the rain, however PS4 out performs and grips the road better than the Primacy 4 in dry conditions. Both feels equally comfortable due to its soft compound, but the the Primacy 4 is much quieter than the PS4 (transmit less noise into the cabin). ry8128 liked this post

QUOTE(JamesLR @ Oct 5 2021, 12:40 PM) I just fitted 4pc Primacy 4 on to my E36 325i. 205/55R16. Will report back my long term review. So far done 3,000km on this Primacy 4 and I have been quite impressed. Actually PS4 also can reach 40-50k km for mostly normal driving provided you do rotation every 15 or 20k km.It is much quieter, comfy than than the Goodyear Assurance triplemax which came with the car. Hope these Primacy 4 will last 50,000km or more |

I rotate my tyres every 5,000 km and check pressure every 2 weeks. Yet my 2 sets of PS4 lasted below 30k km only Maybe due to my car being a powerful turbocharged FWD ( Remaped S60 T5 ) and I do drive it fast and hard it wears faster. This is my 2nd set of PS4 which lasted me 27,000km. I feel the rear 2 can still go for another 3000km but I'm not risking it as I travel outstation a lot at high speeds. One thing to note on Michelin tyres. They are expensive but they perform well from new until worn . Unlike other brands which only perform well when new and halfway thru the performance and grip drops dramatically. PS4 dry grip and dry handling actually improves when almost botak due to more rubber contact and less flex. The wet lateral grip is still good when worn due to the compound of the tyres. Only heavy rain easier to hydroplane. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() PS4 handles and performs very well! Both dry and wet grip is damn good for street use. ESPECIALLY if you like to do touge runs up cameron or genting and push it to the limit making the tyres squeel and slip. Roadnoise NVH and comfort is also very good for a UHP tyre compared to my previous Pirelli P ZERO which was hard and loud as F. Only downside is the high price and wear rate. Overall, I feel for the average road user who dont drive like a maniac and regularly attack corners hard a more comfort oriented touring tyre will suffice and get the job done in more comfort and give better milage and fuel economy. Thats why Im trying out the PRIMACY 4 for my T5 Volvo. Hopefully it will last longer than 40k km for my usage. My current criteria for tyres are - Stable at High speed - Good wet performance - Good NVH and comfort - Good mileage/ wear rate (at least 40k km) Primacy 4 seems to fit the bill GOT mine fitted 4 pc balance and alignment 215/50R17 Rm450/pc in Penang Island ADVANCE TYRE AUTOMART SDN BHD Cheapest in Pg so far Other shops selling at RM470 to RM490. 225/45R17 also around RM480 to Rm500 depending on shop. Looks like you like to drive fast particularly in the straight. Is your car lowered? Cuz seems a bit much negative camber too. You can try compensate a bit with slight toe-in alignment setting. I think Primacy will not last much longer, maybe just like 5k km, cuz the TW rating is not much higher than PS4 (only 340 vs 320). If you want more long lasting tires then need to get something around 400-500 TW rating but of course the grip performance won't be nearly as good.Maybe due to my car being a powerful turbocharged FWD ( Remaped S60 T5 ) and I do drive it fast and hard it wears faster. changed 4 pcs of Primacy 4 for 225/45 R18. Price is RM610 each. All alignment, balancing, new valve, and nitrogen gas included. The first impression, its a rather quiet tires and almost reduce significantly. High speed is still good but of course, used before PS4 which is more planted and the steering feel is better. I do some spirited driving once a while but that's it. Aside from the noise, it's pretty prefect and love the wet handling of it. |

Been using Primacy 4 for about 1500km, overall the noise is rather lower than PS4 but still being in Malaysia road condition the tire sound still there on poor road conditions or old tarmac. For handling overall Primacy is okay unless you push it hard and it will slip. PS4 still has the wining edge here. If you love spirited driving, i think just stick back to PS4 as when you need the moment, your desire will be fulfilled but Primacy 4 may have the limitation that may make you disappointed during the "spirited driving moment"If really comfort and day to day to work or chill drive, Primacy is a better tires than most brands there. Suddenly heard 'helicopter' sound and steered to the left of the road. After inspection on the thread got nothing but got large crack on the side wall. I send back the tyre and replace with a new one at the tyre shop. The tauke said will try to send for claim |

Just changed to Primacy 4 205/50/R17 tyres yesterday @RM520 each. Feels more comfortable and quiet vs my previous PS4 ones, but I seldom drive, so maybe just psychological effect of my new tyres!

Visited a tyre shop yesterday and they don't take Michelin tyres anymore. Not too sure on actual reason but it may be that the price is always higher than other brands of tyres. I mostly see Goodyear, Continental and Hankook tyres in the shop. Mostly in the RM300+ price range. |

was considering Primacy 4 vs Pilot Sport 5. Tested my friend's car with PS5 and i eventually went for Primacy 4 - no regrets. = Price is about the same depending on which shop you go to = Even for spirited driving it is way more than grippy enough - i'm not doing a time attack on the race track anyway + Primacy 4 is noticeably more comfortable + Primacy 4 is significantly quieter - Primacy 4 seems to pick up gravel easier so if you drive over some loose gravel on the road you'll hear some clattering till it spins off as you continue driving Overall, I would recommend Primacy 4 over the PS5 because of the comfort and quietness. Despite it being marketed as a comfort tyre vs the PS5's sporty intentions, for everyday driving (even if it's a bit more spirited) it's way more than good enough. QUOTE(tifosi @ Feb 25 2022, 01:30 PM) Hey James, how's your Primacy 4 doing comparing to your prev PS4? Me too having dilemma if I should move to Primacy from PS4. PS4 is great no doubt wet and dry, probably best I ever driven on but the tire noise and the bumpiness is bad especially after half worn. After switching from PS4 to P4 on both my cars. FF turbocharged Volvo ( done 20k km ) and FR NA BMW (done 45k km) How much of the handling deficit compare to PS4 and how's the wet grip like? I feel PS4 is only 20 percent better in dry handling and grip and 10 percent better in hydroplane resistance and wet grip P4 is much more Longer lasting ,Quieter , comfortable and Better value for daily driver. Overall for average daily driver, Primacy 4 is more than good enough. Most drivers will struggle to find the limits of the P4 what more PS4. I only like PS4 and the new PS5 for its awesome looking side wall design. Wish the new P4+ will get that design too . I find Michelin tyres as a whole are able to maintain its performance and grip level well until almost botak. In my experience dry grip and handling actually improves as the tyres wears down ( last 1/4 tyre life) Rolling resistance also much reduced. Only rainy days have to be careful due to lower tread grooves. ![]() amscouzach57 and tifosi liked this post

Performance is there until almost bald, and maybe for the mass market, P4 is more than sufficient. But just to share an experience, my fronts had 2.4mm and rears 1.8mm remaining, so I rotated the tyres to use up the remaining 2.4mm on the rears before switching to a new set of PS5s, and on that very night before the date of replacement, I had a sidewall puncture on the front which I assume was caused by tyre overheating from constantly running at 190km/h+ for an hour due to a lack of tread dispersing the heat. Separate topic: nice E36 btw, which engine is this? I see an M3 side door trim, but the side mirrors are non-M3s so I'm not sure what you have plonked in there haha This post has been edited by HalseyFrangipane: Oct 18 2022, 06:01 PM |

Sad... They have no plan to bring in P4+.
Msg from Michelin facebook page 3 weeks ago. "Hi xxx, thank you for your interest. There are no plans to bring in MICHELIN Primacy 4+ tyres to Malaysia. You may check out our other range of MICHELIN tyres here : https://www.michelin.com.my/auto/home-auto Thank you and have a great day!" |

QUOTE(shadow111 @ Apr 9 2022, 08:49 PM) Just came across this thread, and maybe got the answer for what being asked, the difference between Primacy 4 and Primacy 4 ST are:-Both are designed for Asia Pacific Region's extreme road and weather conditions (bumpy road, potholes and thunderstorms). -ST means Silent Tuned, available in Asia not in Europe due to drivers' prioritize less noise in Asia for apparent reasons. As far as I concerned, verified with a tyre shop, for tyre size below 16 inches, there is no Primacy 4 for local market. Some primacy 4 are parallel import from overseas. For this part, standard speech comes in, no warranty given by Michelin Malaysia. neuromancerx liked this post

my 215/60R17 P4 is going to EOL soon, perhaps 10k more. Have been using it for 44k now, still have around 1mm thread depth from the indicator, grip still quite good in dry and wet surprisingly. The comfort and noise level hasn't change much though. Definitely would like to go back to the same tyre but the price is killing me for this size. It almost 600 per piece due to this odd size.

Trade in new stock tyres to Primacy 4 x 4 (215/50/R17) and now Michelin having Raya promotion were up to RM40 rebate per donut.
For 17 inch, there is RM30 rebate per donut and it cost me RM499 (before Raya rebate) for one, not too bad the price I would say since got rebate |

Hi All
I really wanted to get the primacy 4 for my 2022 Iriz, but since I intend to keep the OEM rims I'd like the tyre to be 185/60 R15. Problem is primacy 4 doesn't come with 185s I believe. There's also the possibility of facing higher fuel consumption if I go for 195s. Are there any other tyres that can fit the size and still be close in performance to the primacy 4? I appreciate the comfort and low noise but I'd like to still keep high wet grip (so I feel I should avoid CC6). This post has been edited by RoundShells: May 21 2023, 09:59 PM |

I just don't wanna deal with the higher fc of the wider tyres if possible, not to mention possible compatibility issues with installing it in front tyres. Is PS3 even comparable with Primacy 4 in it's touring characteristics (comfort and noise)? I thought those are UHP tier which means good performance but noisy and gives good road feedback? |

Any tire on an EV needs to be replaced more frequently than tires on a gas car. Spending more on special tires for EVs that last longer is worth the extra cost at the tire shop." If you want to upgrade, better ask for dedicated EV tires not normal road tires from respective brands (Example if for Michelin should be e.Primacy or Pilot Sport EV range). Be prepare to pay premium price, there are no shortcuts or real savings for EV now due to the technology is still new, from tires to spare parts that need to repair/replace will cost higher compare to normal ICE cars until it is more mature or widely used. Continental UC7 Falken Ziex ZE310 R Ecorun fuzagi liked this post

Go research on how they rate the grades under UTQG (Uniform Tire Quality Grading) https://maxxis.my/tyre-details.php?id=44 ![]() FYI, latest Michelin PS5 Traction rating only single A (PS4 still got AA) but still listed under UHP or Max Performance range tires. Previously there is a grading why certain tires are listed in those category after evaluating like Wet/Dry cornering, braking, rolling resistant, wear, speed ratings, value etc. If not mistaken iPro weakness is due to high wear, it fell short and it is also very old model (if not mistaken available since 2010) thus they sell it at a value to contra the weakness. |

I am currently using Michelin Primacy 4 on my Nissan Serena.
I found that the set of tyre on my car always can't last. Current Primacy4 is only 1.5 years with less than 20+km but the tyre thread is almost gone dy. Is this normal? My car is less than 5 years and this is my 3rd set of tyre (new car tyre > ecopia > pirmacy 4) |

QUOTE(spreeeee @ Dec 12 2023, 12:44 PM) Treadwear is not a true indicator, a lot of factors from manufacturer control/reference tire for treadwear comparison and also driver driving attitude, road condition, etc factors. https://www.hankooktire.com/mea/en/tire/ven...rime4-k135.html The treadwear ratings can be found in their website is around 340, need open the tire size and check. |

The latest SUV tyre – an updated of the original Primacy SUV – is said to have improved performance and greater size coverage to better accommodate consumer needs and the growing SUV market. Hi Sifu here. Plan to change new tyre for my civic fe. Looking at quiet and comfortable tyre possible with good grip.
Currently might target for michellin primacy 4. Any review of this tyre whether it fit to civic fe? Or anyone is already using it on your civic fe mind to share your experience? Thanks! |
