QUOTE(huattk @ May 15 2007, 11:41 PM) At least throw in a halfway competent video chip like an ATI 1200 or nVidia 6150, or hell, even the new (as in last year's "new") Intel X3000 aka 965. Intel 950 is utterly disgraceful. This is hardly what I'd call an upgrade. You can't even play that free Chinese online RPG game without turning off T&L. ya.. To me, that update is ntg new.. The overall system is still only 32bit machine. And basically is OLD technology. Very disappointed indeed @TS, it only 1Gb ram la.. This post has been edited by allvin: May 16 2007, 12:27 AM

QUOTE(xaw5126 @ May 16 2007, 12:42 PM) as an Apple reseller, I'll say the pricing for Apple products is fixed by Apple Malaysia. as a user, yes, the MacBook is not a 3D performance machine, but then again, this is Apple's budget laptop, and looking at the iBook, its never had a current model graphics chip throughout its lifetime Since you using ibook, right? (saw at your rig). Do you know that your ibook ATI Mobility Radeon 9550 is waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy better than intel GMA950? GMA950 don't have T&L(Transforming and Lighting, it's important for 3D games), which is under Directx6 and below family. It's 1999 technology. Directx7 (hardware version) and above, it will have T&L. Even it's mainly for directx, but still openGL has as well. This post has been edited by allvin: May 16 2007, 03:22 PM

well i just pointed it out. From 1.83GHz bump to 2Ghz.. and the 4MB cache. Basically, you feel ntg.. And the previous model is already Core2Duo. So it's ntg big deal. Like last time, macbook is only CoreDuo and bump to Core2Duo. That's quite big deal. This post has been edited by allvin: May 16 2007, 05:26 PM

QUOTE(jensen_tidus @ May 25 2007, 05:16 PM) ah... i missed tat lower part... brain was full of anger bout the update sorry bout tat.... the new 2.16G white is quite a great deal, they pump the speed to 2.16Ghz, 8x super dvd from 6x and a whoping 120G hdd from 80G futher more.... cgcomputer selling them at rm4999 now the spec same as the current 7k entry mbp without the larger screen n the graphic... wonder if they made any minor changes to the design like wat apple does of removing sharp edges in 2nd gen of mb... BUt no superdrive (dvd-burner) for the new mb IINM. The processor speed is not a very big deal here. I bet even your old mb can still perform as good as the new one, as long as your ram is enuf (1GB or 2GB)
