sorry if i at wrong section
i am looking for new chair to replace my alrik ikea.
markus price rm549 is quite high actually for me. that why i thinking did it worth for me or not.
or i should take normal chair like millberget rm299, flintan rm289 or renberget rm199. or save more for gaming chair
i know i can feel the chair at ikea store, but since i would use for gaming and movie, i need to sit for 3-4 hour to feel the satisfaction.
even my alrik i feel comfortable when i test at ikea, but when i sit for 1 hour, i feel dizzy because the chair feel like pushing my backbone.

For that price I think Markus is good. For comfort, I can't tell but I prefer sitting in gaming chair because I do a lot of competitive gaming and gaming chair somehow make my back and butt sit tightly lol biggrin.gif

Btw, I also have a few questions.
I want to buy Markus bcs of it height. My desk a bit higher than normal desk (and im a small person), so I need a chair with Max. seat height: 57 cm like Markus.
I tested two gaming chairs (dont know which model) from DxRacer and AKRacing, both max seat height is around 48-50cm only. So it is really uncomfortable for me to use with my desk sad.gif

Anyone know any gaming chair with max seat height 55cm+ ?

if you're the heavier type, suggest u get a different one.

not sure if they have fixed the design, but the 4 screws that hold the seat and the stands are screwed upwards. meaning u can feel it once the foam sinks in after long hour use (due to length of the screws used). own one, still using it. had to buy extra cushion to avoid feeling that screws.

seat height will be a problem if u have a low desk/table. the rollers will need replacement after few years (if the chair is not broken yet) as the rubbers will peels off on its own.

Ikea chair quality is questionable. Better buy real office chair (slightly expensive but last longer).

Been using it for 10 years. It's ok. No backache so far. During weekends, can easily clock 12 hours on that chair.

I've used one for what... almost 15 years now? One of the welds connecting the seat to the leg finally gave way earlier this year, and last week I noticed a tear in the cushion fabric, but I'm still using it (in fact, I'm sitting in it as I type this). Besides what's mentioned above, everything still works fine. Even the wheels still roll around without issue, unlike my chair at work.

Mine 10 yrs already. If you have a plain cement floor be slightly careful when you 'slide' around markus little wheel can easily damage the floor. Other than that dont get the leather type nice looking but more prone to tearing. Other than that good chair.

Any "peeling" of leather? What wear and tear after 10 years?

A tear of the Leather after 15 years... sounds good. What weld gave way? Still can use if broken ?

Lots of "cracks" in the leather but I don't consider it as peeling. It can be unsightly, but I hardly look at it. I just sit on it.

These cracks start how long after purchase? 1 year? 2 year? 5 years?

Not 100% sure but if forced to guess, around 5 to 7 years. Bear in mind that I didn't really "care" for the leather. Btw, pretty sure it is polyurethane than leather.

Mine's the fabric type. I don't like the feel of leather. Makes my skin sweat.

The foot of the chair is welded to the upper part with 4 joints. One of them broke - I only noticed cos the chair was a bit unsteady, but the 3 other joints are holding fine and I'm not using the chair for extreme sports, so...

If I have the time I might actually bring it to a welder and see what they can do, but then again I'm moving into a new place soon, so I'll probably get a new chair (probably another Markus) and keep the old one as a spare.
