France24 is already in Astro's line up. But how to watch?
*
France24 (French) Ch 900 is ONLY for Astro Biz commercial customers.

You can stream France24 (English) only on the Astro GO app.

That's 556, for 551 gctn also?

Ch 551 will be no longer in service. CGTN Documentary stays at Ch 556 after Oct 15.

Don’t get confused.

• CGTN, the news channel, is on Ch 503, one of the Base channels on entry-level Astro One: Entertainment Pack.
• CGTN Documentary will be available as part of the News & Documentaries add-on when free preview ends Oct 31.

I was checking Sooka for the first time and saw that "TV" is not listed in Devices for "Sports & Entertainment". But the app seems to be available for Android TV and worked just fine as I tested it in guest mode.

Anyone know if they'll actually enforce this device-type limitation once I subscribe to the plan?

The sooka app does work on TV (e.g. Android TV), but in guest mode you’ll only get access to free channels and a limited selection of VOD, capped at 480p.

For a full sooka access on TV, you’ll need the Premium Plan subscription. That’s the only tier that unlocks premium channels and VOD in up to 2160p (4K), and it supports up to 3 devices (1 TV + 2 web/mobile).

So yes, the limitation is enforced. TV access is available, but premium content and higher quality streaming are tied to the Premium Plan.

May i know why it's bad news, they just rebranding right plus the previous apps can be use but with different name?
*
This is essentially a rebrand: Disney+ Hotstar and Star will transition to Disney+ and Hulu starting October 9.

However, the platform is still running on the current Disney+ Hotstar interface, known as “Hotstar X.” In the future, we may see the rollout of the native Disney+ UI, similar to what’s available in the U.S. and Singapore.

For instance, Hotstar X relies on phone number and OTP logins, while Disney+ uses the more universal email and password system.

Zee Cinema (currently on Ch 251) will be relocated to Ch 117 effective October 13.

Ch 251 will be left vacant.

The move groups Zee Cinema, which airs only Hindi movies, alongside Colors (Ch 116), another Hindi entertainment channel.

how do i get rid all of this indian channel ? do i need to call customer service ?
*
What pack are you on?

Fyi, since the Sun NXT app was added to Astro in April, all Indian channels are now included by default for every Astro customer, regardless of ethnicity.

To answer your question, no. You can “disable” it by using the parental control.

Indians are complaining Astro got fewer  local Deepavali shows (in Astro Channels, not those from India ones) than previous years.

Also they complained no hype around Deepavali.
*
What do you think the reason might be?

Maybe that clears up your questions.

"Disney+ Hotstar" will become just "Disney+" from 9 Oct 2025 onwards. All this happens because of some company merger happening within Disney in India, which impacts the "Hotstar" brand.
Sadly, the same subpar app UI as what we're getting today will remain as-is even it becomes "Disney+".
We still won't getting the premium UI as what the international version of Disney+ users get, which is what I have been hoping for many years already... doh.gif

With the Hots*** out of the picture, I hope this rebranding into Disney+ means we could be a step closer into getting the same premium UI as international version of Disney+ in the near future.

I can still watch my HBO channels & HBO Max app access even though I canceled the HBO Max add-on. My access should have ended yesterday.

Also, my Primary Pack is now fixed at RM59.99 for life; no more discount period.

Sorry for noob question, haven’t watched tv shows in a long time. Wta if I want to watch hbo max do I need to go through Astro or can just download the app and just subscribe there??? I want to watch the upcoming IT welcome to Derry then unsubscribe.
*
You can subscribe to HBO Max directly without going through Astro.

Astro only bundles it if you’re on their Movies/One Epic packs, or you can add it to your Astro bill (with RM1 off the retail price). If you just want to watch It: Welcome to Derry, subscribing directly and cancelling after works fine.
