Previously that pink buffering icon doesn't appear, and then when you perform Restore Factory Settings, the pink buffering icon keeps appearing whenever you change channel, correct?
You selected Plug & Play (self-install), is it?

Based on what you described, you should be selecting "Satellite".
When you select Satellite, you won't experience that pink buffering icon and "Picture quality becomes OK after 5 seconds" whenever you tune to a channel.
That scenario is an expected, well known thing for customers who are on Plug & Play. You are experiencing just like what those Plug & Play customers are getting, where some may finds it disturbing or annoying.
If you don't like that, then Plug & Play mode is not for you.

Once you select Satellite, you'll be asked for the LNB Type. Let me know if you need help on that.

Unfortunately, retention offers usually offered to customers who intends to remain on their existing old package.

If you're aiming for Astro One: Sports Pack, then normally you'll have to "upgrade" to that exact pack, pay that same price and get 24 months contract just like anyone else, without getting additional rebates.

Well, unless if you manage to "nego" with that agent to see if there's "special exception" that I'm not aware of, then.... Do share with all of us here, I want to know also haha...

So apparently they can somehow "waive" that infamous 24 months contract on a conditional basis.

So after 6 months ended, i can nego further to have the Sports Pack permanently with discounted price or keep my Astro One: Entertainment Pack.
I don't think you can "nego" with them and get another few months free access of Sports channels indefinitely. I'm sure their system will have a record that you enjoyed "similar offer" before.

Mmm, so I guess you can't access to HBO channels like CH411, 412, 414, 415 right? In that case, then HBO Max isn't included in your subscription...

Since you plan to subscribe to HBO Max then cancel it after 1 month, you can get HBO Max on either methods:
1) Directly with HBO Max website, at retail price of RM34.90 / RM52.90
2) Addon through Astro billing at special price of RM33.90 / RM51.90
3) Addon through Unifi billing at much cheaper price of RM24.90 / RM34.90

If you subscribe to Unifi at home, I suggest you use MyUnifi app and subscribe HBO Max there, because that is the cheapest place to get HBO Max in Malaysia (that I know of).

For Astro, you can add and remove HBO Max addon at anytime via My Astro app or web https://myastro.astro.com.my/
The good thing of subscribe through Astro is as what doubleM2 mentioned, where you'll also get access to HBO channels on your Astro set-top-box, On Demand and Astro GO via CH411, 412, 414 and CH415.

For Unifi (be it Home, Fibre or Mobile), you can also add and remove HBO Max addon at anytime eithe via MyUnifi app, Unifi UniVerse app, Unifi Selfcare portal https://selfcare.unifi.com.my/ or Unifi TV sales portal https://unifi.com.my/login.

That ad is not from India's Sun TV. It is actually manually slotted in by Astro.
And when you see that advert ID label on bottom left corner of the screen of the particular product ad, which stated keywords like "LPF" and "LULUS", it clearly means that it is from Malaysia, not from India.
"LULUS" means PASSED. The ad has been screened by the LPF (Film Censorship Board) and they've marked the ad as PASSED to be used for broadcast.

In case you don't know, I got the info that Sun TV is one of the heavily censored channel from Astro, in the sense where almost EVERY single ads during commercial break are being manually replaced by Astro, either with Malaysian Indian products ads or just Astro in-house ads (e.g. Astro First movies, Astro Home of Sports like Premier League, etc.) or Sun TV's usual TV shows ads.

The easy way to spot whether is it a Malaysian Indian ad: Most of the products ads tend to indicate mobile number or address within the ad itself, to allow viewers know where they can buy that particular product, hence you'll see that the mobile number or address is a Malaysian one, not an Indian mobile number or address.

This kind of practice is specially unique to Malaysian Indian products ads to be shown on TV, and it is considered very uncommon for Malaysian English/Malay/Chinese ads to have that.

Yes. You're getting that error because your Ultra Box will always keep trying to receive the channel via satellite reception as you change channels.
That is an expected behaviour.

But yeah, technically speaking, it is safe to perform Restore Factory Settings to change to Plug & Play, so no need to worry about that.
Settings such as preferred audio/subtitle language and HDMI/SPDIF Audio setting will reset to default, however I notice nowadays when I do Restore Factory Settings, all of my logged in streaming apps still remains logged in.
I remember back then, all apps will logged out after you perform Restore Factory Settings...

Maybe they made the improvements since don't know when... sweat.gif

Hi there. doubleM2's answer is the more marketing-oriented version, which is easier to understand. Here's my long answer:

For new customers, as long if you subscribe to Astro One: Entertainment Pack (RM49.99), then you will be getting Ulti Box by default.
If you insist in getting Ultra Box, you'll need to pay a one-off installation of RM139 (for Plug & Play) or RM199 (for Satellite).
But do note that the installation/setup fee may be lower or even waived, depending on whatever special campaign they have at the time of you signing up.

But if you subscribe to higher tier packs such as Astro One: Sports Pack (RM99.99), then you'll be getting Ultra Box by default.

Ulti Box supports up to Full HD only, while Ultra Box supports 4K UHD (Ultra HD 2160p) and Dolby Atmos.
Although the hardware specs for Ultra Box is more superior than Ulti Box (which means better UI/UX performance), but the 4K UHD content you'll be getting from Astro is rather limited.

Today, there's only 2 UHD linear channels on Astro, which is Love Nature (CH549) and Astro Sports UHD (CH805).
Astro Sports UHD channel is mostly showing Premier League and certain tennis event matches.

Love Nature channel is available to all Astro customers, but your subscription needs to have Sports to access Astro Sports UHD channel.

As for On Demand content, it is mostly documentaries from Love Nature and a handful of Astro originals shows.
Short answer is, don't expect too much of 4K UHD content from Astro. It is very limited.

Sounds like it's their system issue.

If not, then it's probably some system bugs on their side.

Yes.
The only Indian channels in Astro that is not in HD are Adithya and Sun Life.
Just because you don't see "HD" indicator on the channel logo, it doesn't mean it is not in HD. You should observe the picture quality on your own eyes, not by looking at the channel logo whether got "HD" or not.

The difference you see between India's or Singapore's versions, is because it is a different feed with different programming and ads.
