It appears that
FINALLY Astro allow its customers to terminate their account. If you've been endured for too long for this, especially what you've been through this MCO, and if you (or anyone who's reading this) wish to terminate Astro service, now you can finally do it.

Reminder: If no CS agent attend to you, you may call again during their not-so-peak hours like 9am-11am and 3-6pm.
Or if you want to write email to them at wecare@astro.com.my please include at least your Astro account number in order for them to process your request.UPDATE:
According to Astro's T&C, you'll have to give a 30 days advance notice to Astro to terminate your account, so on Astro, there's no such thing as "I want to terminate it right at this instant!".
And yes, they'll ask you why you want to terminate...
Because of all these MCO, CMCO thing, it is believed that many Astro CS agents are stressed at work, since technicians are struggling to clear as many backlog appointment jobs since MCO started until today.
So, be nice to them, explain to them "politely" and "nicely". Who knows they would make the termination process easier, by letting you keep the Astro box/dish (no need to return to them).
You might wonder "I keep for what?"Well, if you can take all the Astro equipment (including Astro box, remote control, satellite dish) and go to the nearest Astro service centre by yourself, then they'll be happier.
If you don't want, you can ask them to send someone to your house and collect it from you, and
of course it's not free of charge.
Whatever reasons you use, consider show some "hope that you'd plan to continue Astro again in the future but date is uncertain" so that there's a chance they'll let you keep the Astro box/satellite dish,
which translates into:
you don't have to trouble yourself in any ways (especially in terms of logistics) to send the Astro box and equipment back to them at your own cost. And after that, you want to throw it away or keep in the store room, it's up to you.
Or, you want to be honest and tell them how frustrated you are towards Astro service, and you demand them to get someone to collect whatever Astro equipment from you at no cost. That's up to you.
And yes, do expect that they will counter offer you, such as introducing some "never hear before" attractive packages and free channel previews for X number of days...
They will try at anything to make you stay, and eventually you'd continue subscribe to their service, including "convert to Njoi, and then months later, they'll convince you to convert back to Astro at cheaper price for a period of time".
As a leaving Astro customer, you have to be firm with your decision that you've made. If you want to terminate, then do it properly. Don't U-turn just because of some offers.
That is the
Customer Retention Specialist doing the job to make you stay
**Btw, if you tell them you terminate bcuz you're migrating to other country, then confirm they'll need all the equipment back from you (because you're won't be using their service anymore). But then, if they offer you something that you're interested and can afford to pay, then it's your decision.
And please ask and double confirm if there's any contracts and hidden T&Cs before agreeing any of their counter offers.
And btw, Astro is still hiring for more Customer Retention Specialists. So if you interested
to physiologically counter-offer leaving customers in those kind of jobs, feel free to send your resume to them
