Hmm I see... Maybe that's the reason why Astro aren't so interested to acquire the rights to offer those channels on Astro.

Since TVS is now available on MYTV, I wonder will the Astro promo ads which always on TVS since the channel has no product commercial ads will appear as well? TVS even still promoting "Astro Channel 122" and not for MYTV. If Astro ads still appear, well it is a good marketing strategy from Astro. 😅

Whatever you see on TVS channel on Astro, is exactly the same feed you'll see on MYTV digital TV platform.

This is also the first time that Malaysian terrestrial TV viewers or non-Astro viewers get to watch lots of ads that are meant to target Astro subscribers.
During commercial break, you tend to come across programme ads from various Astro channels like Fox Life, Fox Movies, HITS, Astro in-house channels and many more... so even when you watch TVS on MYTV digital TV, you will see the same exact ads too.
For those who never subscribes to Astro, some may find this "eye opening" because they tend to see programme ads that they never see before, although those ads are irrelevant to MYTV digital TV viewers  

Imagine you don't have Astro at home, and you watch TVS channel on MYTV digital TV platform using your UHF rooftop antenna, and you see advertisements like:
- Astro Best movies "rent and stream On Demand, or go to channel 481"
- "Catch the best movies, only on Fox Movies CH413",
- Some new and popular shows from Astro Warna, Astro AOD,...
- Catch up On Demand, from your Connected PVR box, Ultra Box, and Astro Go app....

But you, as a viewer that doesn't have Astro at home, can only feel envy about it, because you know that MYTV digital TV viewers can't enjoy those, unless you subscribe to Astro.

I almost thought this is April Fool's joke. Turns out it's not... Finally, TV1 and TV2 will be in HD on Astro, for real this time. Not hoax whatsoever....

I did a transponder scan and TS Capture earlier. Turns out they have created a "dummy/duplicate SD channel" of both TV1 and TV2 with different SIDs and PIDs.
This is similar to what happened to Astro AEC, XTY, CCTV4 and even Astro Awani for Njoi viewers, and it is expected the same for the upcoming closure of Malay simulcast SD channels next month...

My assumptions is, this highly suggests to me that Njoi viewers will still be getting the SD versions of TV1 and TV2 even after 1st April 2021 where Astro viewers get to watch them in HD quality.
I think they simulcast the channels in both SD and HD quality, is because a minority of Njoi viewers and also Kristal Astro (Brunei) viewers are still using the legacy box, and have not upgrade to the HD box.
But for what reasons they didn't upgrade, that one I'm not sure, but I guess Astro is working on it? Cuz they can't just keep utilise transponder bandwidth for the sake of the minority that uses obsolete technology....
