QUOTE(joshhd @ Aug 24 2020, 02:50 AM) Wow.... What a "silent" upgrade... But MTV and Animax is still in SD as of now... Will check it again from time to time. So since Sun Music HD is on Ch 212, is Sun TV HD still on Ch 234 or got renumbered to Ch 211 or still the same HD/SD counterparts? This post has been edited by doubleM2: Aug 24 2020, 08:28 PM

QUOTE(joshhd @ Sep 16 2020, 06:39 PM) Hmm I see... Maybe that's the reason why Astro aren't so interested to acquire the rights to offer those channels on Astro. Btw, what do you think about the content offerings on Blue Ant Entertainment and Blue Ant Extreme channels? Some September highlights on Blue Ant Entertainment's 7th Anniversary include: The new season of The Masked Singer U.S. - same day as the U.S. And, welcoming two new late night shows by Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers of NBC onto this channel. Previously slotted by ViacomCBS's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Late Late Show with James Corden. Also these shows are already on-air on CNBC Asia. So, yeah the content offerings from Blue Ant Entertainment alone are really appealing. This post has been edited by doubleM2: Sep 21 2020, 05:36 PM

Guys, is Food Network (Ch 708) gonna cease soon? Lately I saw commercial breaks from the Asian Food Network instead.
My guess is that Food Network will merge its shows through AFN, since both channels are fairly identical in terms of channel names, so it confuses me sometimes.

QUOTE(fandom96 @ Feb 14 2021, 09:19 AM) Since TVS is now available on MYTV, I wonder will the Astro promo ads which always on TVS since the channel has no product commercial ads will appear as well? TVS even still promoting "Astro Channel 122" and not for MYTV. If Astro ads still appear, well it is a good marketing strategy from Astro. 😅 Anyone has MYTV..can you clarify this? QUOTE(joshhd @ Feb 14 2021, 11:43 AM) Whatever you see on TVS channel on Astro, is exactly the same feed you'll see on MYTV digital TV platform. This is also the first time that Malaysian terrestrial TV viewers or non-Astro viewers get to watch lots of ads that are meant to target Astro subscribers. During commercial break, you tend to come across programme ads from various Astro channels like Fox Life, Fox Movies, HITS, Astro in-house channels and many more... so even when you watch TVS on MYTV digital TV, you will see the same exact ads too. For those who never subscribes to Astro, some may find this "eye opening" because they tend to see programme ads that they never see before, although those ads are irrelevant to MYTV digital TV viewers Imagine you don't have Astro at home, and you watch TVS channel on MYTV digital TV platform using your UHF rooftop antenna, and you see advertisements like: - Astro Best movies "rent and stream On Demand, or go to channel 481" - "Catch the best movies, only on Fox Movies CH413", - Some new and popular shows from Astro Warna, Astro AOD,... - Catch up On Demand, from your Connected PVR box, Ultra Box, and Astro Go app.... But you, as a viewer that doesn't have Astro at home, can only feel envy about it, because you know that MYTV digital TV viewers can't enjoy those, unless you subscribe to Astro. In other words, Astro operates the technical broadcast of TVS entirely. That's also why you get to watch GO Shop programming, and Lan Berdagang from Astro Awani. The content however, is 100% solely from TVS' side. This post has been edited by doubleM2: Feb 14 2021, 12:50 PM

QUOTE(jackytan.tt @ Mar 2 2021, 11:08 PM) Ok, so if I’m getting this right, you’ll still get those free channels - now in HD. But you can’t purchase selected channels- wha? I’m confused, can you rephrase this? You can’t purchase the NJOI Prepaid channels when using non HD-enabled NJOI box, as the SD version were ceased already. For those already using HD-enabled NJOI box, you’ll automatically get the HD version of those prepaid channels after the scheduled date. (E.g.: Astro Ria SD Ch 124 becomes HD Ch 104 on April 12) The same thing goes to free channels as well, for example, Astro AEC SD Ch 346 becomes HD Ch 306 on March 15. QUOTE(joshhd @ Mar 29 2021, 09:59 PM) I did a transponder scan and TS Capture earlier. Turns out they have created a "dummy/duplicate SD channel" of both TV1 and TV2 with different SIDs and PIDs. This is similar to what happened to Astro AEC, XTY, CCTV4 and even Astro Awani for Njoi viewers, and it is expected the same for the upcoming closure of Malay simulcast SD channels next month... https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...#entry100305870My assumptions is, this highly suggests to me that Njoi viewers will still be getting the SD versions of TV1 and TV2 even after 1st April 2021 where Astro viewers get to watch them in HD quality. I think they simulcast the channels in both SD and HD quality, is because a minority of Njoi viewers and also Kristal Astro (Brunei) viewers are still using the legacy box, and have not upgrade to the HD box. But for what reasons they didn't upgrade, that one I'm not sure, but I guess Astro is working on it? Cuz they can't just keep utilise transponder bandwidth for the sake of the minority that uses obsolete technology.... Just saw an updated RTM promo of TV1 & TV2 going HD on Astro... RTM stated that both channels are exclusively available on Astro B.yond (aka Astro Ulti) models and above. So clearly NJOI users will still continue to watch its SD counterparts.
