My astro contract end soon, so if I do nothing, it will become auto renew contract for another 24months? or I become no contract which can end at anytime?
*
QUOTE(nff @ Mar 9 2026, 12:44 PM)
Correct. The account will remain no contract. You still need to give them 1 month termination notice to terminate. Astro might call you to offer an additional channel or a bill discount. Beware of that, it will likely refresh your contract.
*

No, Astro already discontinued contract auto renewal rule since 2024.

https://support.astro.com.my/question/new-s...to-auto-renewal

diehard1979 Once your contract ends, you can call customer service to tell them you want to terminate Astro if you want.
And yes, need to give 1 month advance notice.
In terms of the retention offers, it may or may not have contract (usually only few months) in exchange with additional monthly rebates or channel previews, so do double check with that customer service agent.

For mine, it's RM10 rebate for 24 months+contract alongside.

Really cutting cost. Hope they reduce customer price as well to be fair but maybe will not since they need money. Sad.

No, it must be BBC decision.

ok Thanks

They sure will give rebates as retention offers if I act like want to terminate Astro? If they only offer channel previews then really not the thing that I want.

You can give good reasons like "I still want to continue Astro but I'm having financial difficulties, and Astro is expensive..."
Or any reason that suggests that you're still interested to stay with Astro will do.
From what I observed, usually they offer monthly rebates first. But it also depends on what pack you're currently on too.

Most importantly, don't give reasons like "I want to get rid of Astro for good" or "I won't be in Malaysia anymore, no one around at home, hence no need Astro anymore" kind of reasons will do.

[EXCLUSIVE] Astro will also introduce a new content add-on for those 4 new channels, as early as this week.

Just linear TV & VOD, no complimentary premium streaming apps.

Better include the variety pack because variety is left with only 3 channels - hits now, CI and HGTV.

The Blockbuster add-on. RM9.99 (excl. 8% tax).

In my opinion, it makes business sense for Astro to introduce this as an add-on, because the moment HBO channels is gone from Astro, it effectively de-value their Movies bundle.

And because once "HBO Pack with HBO Max" add-on is removed for new take-ups last month, it makes any existing customers who never have access to CH411, 412, 414, 415 to not be able to subscribe to any equivalent add-on to access the channels unless they upgrade to Astro One: Epic Pack (RM199.99), which ties you 24 months contract, which clearly doesn't make sense just for the sake of accessing the 4 replacement channels.

What RM25 are you referring to?

Blockbuster addon (RM9.90) only consists of the 4 channels, and it doesn't come with any apps.

They are indeed replacing 4 HBO channels with 2 new in-house and 2 Rock channels.

But this Blockbuster addon is meant for those who don't have access to the 4 channels now.
Existing customers that previously already been able to access HBO channels, are automatically able to access the 4 channels.
