Man, ever since I updated to the new Astro interface, my PVR decoder will usually hang and won't respond to the remote anymore, until I forcefully reset it by unpluggin the power and connecting it back again

Anybody else having this issue with their decoder?

Considering that a lot of people don't even have 1080p TV, let alone 4K with HDR, it's a waste to offer it. Heck, SkyTV in the UK is only recently offering it (on 26th May 2020!), and even then it's only On Demand contents in limited quantity.

watching Astro during the WFH period has made me appreciate the image quality of direct feed. Those pirated Android box stream looks crap to me now and I can't bear to watch those

There are still people, my friends included, that uses RCA with their kick ass 4K TV. Memang la no difference from those pirated streams. They never actually see HD as intended šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

More like the UI is quite heavy, and you are meant to have the box on standby instead of turn off whenever you are not using it so that it does not take it's time to turn on again. Also the smaller box means it overheats easier. Get a USB laptop cooling pad and put it on that and that should help with heat ventilation

IIRC the leaked 1 year price for non astro user is around RM63. That is actually cheaper than getting a Movie Pack with Astro since it will be Movie Pack Price + RM60 (RM5 x 12 months). If you already have a movie pack subscription, well you are saving RM3 a year, but if you don't already have one, it's not worth it to get the movie pack just to save RM3

My issue is login is tied to your phone number for non astro users on Android right now.

Tip: For those using pihole DNS server, whitelist geolocation.onetrust.com to get Disney+ working

From what I read, you can login in multiple devices (max 5, with the last one logged in will be automatically logged out if you log in more than 5 devices), but concurrent streaming are limited to two devices

So Astro totally blocked Malaysians from getting the 1 year option directly from Hotstar. FFS even Indonesians gets a better deal than us

Region locking without having to resort to VPN. Means that unless you have that country's phone number, you can't subscribe. For example Hotstar in Indonesia is cheaper, but we can't access that unless we have an Indonesian number

I mean there is a reason that only Singapore gets the full fat Disney+ and Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines gets the Hotstar version. There are just not enough people who even have 4K devices, let alone Dolby/DV/ATMOST in these countries to justify getting the full version by Disney. Hence it's cheaper for them to offload it to a third party partner.
