Hello guys I need some clarifications, I’m doing this for my wife. I just got off the phone with their CS. To subscribe Astro one I must upgrade to ultra or ulti box, FAQ said no need, only if I have add-on app. Also I must pay for the service upgrade, is it correct?
FYI because I don’t want to switch to Astro one they gave me RM15 rebate for 24months. Presently my wife subscribed to dynasty/Wah pack (can’t remember the name).
One last question, my wife asked me whether using ulti box is difficult to navigate?
Thanking you in advance.
To subscribe Astro one I must upgrade to ultra or ulti box, FAQ said no need, only if I have add-on app. When existing customers switches to Astro One packs, by default, they will upgrade your box if they see that you're still using HD or PVR box.
However, it is
not mandatory to upgrade, and you can request to remain your existing box if you're not ready.
The FAQ said no need, so FAQ is correct. But the agent said must upgrade, so the agent gave wrong information then (again, which I'm not surprised).
only if I have add-on app.Astro will encourage you to upgrade to Ulti/Ultra Box when you try to add-on app, so that you'll be able to access the apps right on your Ulti/Ultra Box.
From customer experience perspective, it does make sense, because when you subscribe apps through a pay TV provider (Astro), naturally customer would expect that they can also access the app through the Astro box.
If you want to continue using HD or PVR box (which doesn't support any streaming apps), and you subscribe to the apps addons from Astro, then you can access the apps through your own devices only (smartphone, tablet, computer).
Most customers would find this "user experience flow" to be somehow "weird".
FYI because I don’t want to switch to Astro one they gave me RM15 rebate for 24months. Presently my wife subscribed to dynasty/Wah pack (can’t remember the name). They give you RM15 rebate for 24 months because you tell them you intend to switch to Astro One packs, is it? Then the RM15 rebate must be their retention offer...
You agreed with that RM15 rebate? Does it comes with 24 months contract?
If you don't mind, can you login to your My Astro
https://myastro.astro.com.my/account/tv-pack/ and check whether did you see something like "Contract ends on XX Dec 2026" or "No contract"?
One last question, my wife asked me whether using ulti box is difficult to navigate? For me it's fine. Already gotten used to it.
Which Astro box are you using now? Is it PVR box? If yes, does your wife often uses the On Demand or recording functions?
Also I must pay for the service upgrade, is it correct? What do you mean? You mean upgrade box need to pay or not, or how?
