Don't be alarmed, it's not just you. It has been like this since around August 2024.
It is believed that Astro deliberately worsen the SD picture quality for Media Prima channels (8TV and TV9). It is their tactic to "force" Media Prima to pay them channel leasing fees for HD quality, which Media Prima very reluctant to do so (likely because it is very expensive).
It remains a mystery why are they targeting 8TV and TV9, but not TV3 and NTV7. 

Yup thats what I was told pay RM40 get a reciept, you old account wl be closed and you can register new one And for Indian Favs he said its now availiable for all new customers at RM49.95.My account expires next month I was advised terminate and open new one and save RM14.95

Just for info there were comments on TikTOK that some did call astro to check on this RM40 offer,they said astro informed them that there is no such offer.For this the author replied pls PM instead of replying. To me it seems this maybe a tactic by sellers
