QUOTE(opjust @ Aug 10 2019, 03:22 AM) That sucks. It's really convenient to have it available thru the smart TV OS. I believe BBC and iTV have similar apps in the UK and I wish it is offered even as a paid app as a option to those who don't want the physical 2nd decoder. |

I guess if all else fails, then it would mean people actually sideloading the new app to android boxes. Does it work well on the Q10 pro?besides stopping the app on LG, the sonys and sharps running on AndroidTV are also affected. the old app was/is fine... but new app version has a serious problem - the live HD channels are jerky, unwatchable. come 30 Sep, i suspect the old app will be killed off too. fortunately, the new app works fine on many boxes, incl cheap ones. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Aug 10 2019, 06:13 PM) Itâs in beta now https://www.astro.com.my/beta-program/cloud-4kuhd I see that Astro have another opportunity to earn $$$$ with cloud storage and according to the FAQ, you canât record all channel/ for some channel, the recording can be stored for a certain period of time. You canât even access the cloud recording from Astro GO, kinda defeats the purpose of cloud PVR This post has been edited by yongtjunkit: Aug 10 2019, 07:11 PM |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Aug 10 2019, 08:17 PM) I wonder how's the cloud PVR is going to work..... does this mean that you can record more than 2 channels and still watch live TV?Not eligible for this since the minimum requirement is a 4K tv(2017 or newer) + not astro IPTV/NJOI customer But not able to watch it on the go is kinda defeat the purpose of cloud DVR........ especially when your house wifi is down/those houses that don't have wifi/those who use streamyx |

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Aug 10 2019, 10:33 PM) >4K UHD channel will not be available for recording Based on the size of the decoder in the photo, I donât think it comes equipped with HDD in it( the 4K decoder), maybe only a 2.5â HDD instead of the 3.5â desktop hdd.wonder if normal PVR (with slow 500GB) users is also affected... Normal PVR( DMT 5v2 )doesnât support 4K if not mistaken, therefore wonât be able to see the 4K channel ? I wonder if astro would upgrade normal HD PVR user to the new 4K decoder in the future and say that you must connect WiFi to use PVR. This post has been edited by yongtjunkit: Aug 10 2019, 11:00 PM |
