Hi guys, I just moved here 2 weeks ago to Kuala Lumpur Ampang, I always been a wow g33k but last week i was off to get myself internet then i noticed the best connection i can get is 1 mbs! im used to 100 :s So my question is how well does wow run on streamyx? any specific server you guys play on? Is it possible to actually play a healing class properly in endgame? hey i forgot you guys play on the US realm list? or are there a closer one? thats why i was concerned Thank you for the help!

There are many players on US realms (Gorgonnash has a sizable Malaysian/Singaporean population). There are several lowyat-made guilds too, on Thaurissan (LoTH) and Smoulderthorn (is Syck still active?).
It all depends on your connection really. Streamyx gives funky results for different IP addresses. For example, 218.111.xxx.xxx gives me good WoW experience (400 to 800 latency is "good" for me), but it is shit for my friend who lives 20 minutes away. He uses 60.xxx.xxx.xxx ip, which is in turn; shit for me =/

Should be <1 sec, I think. At that ping, I play most online games eg Guild Wars etc with no problems. However, being so far away from the actual physical servers do make us quite susceptible to lag spikes every now & then.

bangsar 218.208 and 60.48 will give you 200-400ms
Dun roll on a US server, roll on a Oceanic server

All oceanic servers are still based in the US. The only difference is the in-game time that are suited more for oceanic time region.
So in terms of latency, no difference.

instant cast spells r not instant cast. btw, u can still heal fairly reasonably with an average ping of 400-600. any higher n ur raid is bound to suffer.
