Avicii's family has confirmed the the famed DJ's death at the age of 28 was suicide.
The family released a second statement about their late son this week, saying he was a "fragile artistic soul".
The Grammy-nominated electronic dance musician, born Tim Bergling, was found dead last week in Muscat, Oman at age 28. Details about his death were not revealed.
"Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress," read the statement, released Thursday. "When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most - music."
Avicii had in the past suffered acute pancreatitis, in part due to excessive drinking. After having his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014, he cancelled a series of shows in attempt to recover.
The Swedish performer retired from performing in 2016 but still produced albums and songs.
"Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight," the statement read. "Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive."
Earlier this week, Avicii's family thanked his fans for their support in the days following the superstar DJ's death. He received a number of tributes from the music community and fans. - STUFF NZ

Suicide is a problem in Europe
In Amsterdam the native told me they have suicide prevention clinics / psychiatry in every train station because so many have dived the tracks and caused delays. She could feel the bones crushed by the train as they roll over them. The rates go up to 3 a month during the winter.

No, it's a vague statement by the family taken by the Swedish media and some translation error could've mix in at international cover news
Avicii been having health complications, if you watch his documentary you know he's surrounded by bad influences and label guys who keep pushing him to perform even when the man is burned out and should get some rest

Fly FM got dedicated section for Avicii called Avicii Stories on the radio. I wonder if they did the same for Chester Bennington last time?

When he performed, does he need the brain to think so hard? His life is sooooo hard compared to kuli that need to work 5 days every week. He earn so highh. Yeahh, life is so hard until burnt out and need to get some rest. This post has been edited by xpole: Apr 28 2018, 07:49 AM

When one has enough for himself, no longer distracted by work , money, or financial problem, a pertinent question arises. Issue of getting old, sick and death. Can be very depressing for some if they don't have the right mindset for this.
"One way or another, a person will ask - what is the point of getting all this, if at the end I will end up dead and leave it behind too? "
There are better ways to deal with this, and suicide is not one of them.
