Hmm paiseh open new topic to ask a noob questions again So i guess i'll juz edit .. juz wanna ask ... nikon lenses right .. does it fit ALL of nikon's dslr ? Or different lens for different camera ? How to see which can fit which camera ? I'm particularly interested in this lens :

Nikon AF-S 55-200mm f/4-5.6 G ED DX &
18-55mm F3.5-5.6G Lens Kit

Which camera can it fit into ? D40 ? D80 ? Higher end models can ??

if d80 over your budget, then can consider second hand bodies as well... d50, d70s... then spend on the lens instead

Or 2nd had D80 body too.

Nikon lenses can be mounted on ALL Nikon DSLR...
especially DX lenses...it is made for digital slr...=)

even on higher end dslr such as D200 ?? Coooool !! That's good to hear .. and also 1 more wonder about the lenses .... the "55-200mm" number is actually to determine how far you can zoom and like 'make it big' right Sry for the wrong term hehe ... juz wondering if let say i have this lens :

It will be useless for me to get a 50mm lens ?? I can always adjust my lens to 50mm and it will be the same as the stand-alone-50mm lens right ? Or there is something special about the stand alone 50mm lens ...

if i m not mistaken the digital slr uses the nikon "F" mount...
therefore any camera that supports nikon "F" mount would be able to use it...

yes its the zoom and also the focal length...
55-200m would be 3.63x zoom...

it is possible to set the 55-200 to 50mm...
but prime lens are used because they produce better quality...
u can take a look in the gallery...there's someone there using 50mm prime...
take a look at the picture...and also...prime lens is able to go very wide aperture....the cheapest 50mm is f/1.8...
but the 55-200 is only f/4-5.6...

Oh yea .. the f is different ... thnx for clearing my doubts Helps alot ..
