some specs first:
-grey ipad pro 9.7
-2yrs old alrdy
-32gb
-wifi only

So I have hold onto this tablet for a while and personally I LOVE it wub.gif . Even bought 2 apple pencils to use it with.

I have been using it for study purpose and to that end it has serve exceptionally well in that regards.

however my study is coming to an end next year. i might not find much use to its other than media consumption. thought it might better off with someone else.

so what do you guys think?
is it worth to sell it? does the ipad serve any purpose once i step into working life later on?

It depends on what your job would be. But how i see it, iPad Pro with Apple Pencil is a great productivity tool if you know how to use it right.

Since you already have the pencil, iPad Pro with pencil is one of the best note taking tool you'd ever use. Be it in meetings, or your own work notes. There are so many note apps out there to choose from that will sync with your cloud accounts.

Also, the 9.7inch screen gives you free MS Office apps usage. I've used it with a lot of presentations, and also used it to amend/approve documents. PDF reader with annotate function is so convenient with iPad Pro + Pencil.

Checking and replying emails can be more convenient with the iPad. Especially if you're doing light work in a cafe.

If you're not in need of cash, i'd say keep it.

I think you just keep it, unless you plan to buy a new any time soon, there is no reason you sell it unless you need cash

My last iPad was iPad 3, after so many years I brought a 128gb cellular New non pro iPad is same fast with your iPad Pro 9.7 with Apple Pencil is only rm 2717, your 2 year old iPad Pro how much you expect to sell

...

If you work involve some excel and pdf related job I think your iPad very suitable to keep, don’t just think of media consumption etc in fact when you busy you don’t have anytime for those thing but in your head just want to setttle your work faster, even without your pc

Off topic Last time I sold my 2012 MacBook 13 at rm 2800 in 2013 ( I brought at rm 3500), then sell 2013 mba 11 at 2014 for RM 2200, guess what, I see in carousel now these MacBook still selling at around 2000 now

Hey thanks for insight!
I'm a students in engineering and takes degree course after matriculation. So I can't say much about what my working environment would be like. In fact, next year will be my first time taking internship in a company.

I went through carousell and mudah for price reference. For my model, I'm seeing around 1500 for ipad only. 2000 if i include the apple pencil and some accesories. I guess that's kinda high? I don't know. Not that good with pricing haha.

In any case I'd say the price hold up kinda okay. For me at least!

I guess I'll wait till I'm in internship then I'll consider whether to keep it or not...

That's the plan for now! At least until I get into my internship, then I'll consider whether to keep it.

Agree with you about the note taking with Apple Pencil. Really appreciate the lag free of iOS. I have used Surface Pro and although it is amazing in certain aspect, the device will sometimes lag when taking notes.

The only downside to it is you can't use the tablet for any engineering specific program like Proteus or MATLAB. Basically Window specific programs.

About the free MS Office apps usage. Is there any restriction on larger Ipad Pro?
