https://www.kidney.org/professionals/KDOQI/gfr_calculator

https://renal.org/information-resources/the...ide/about-egfr/

Using this calculator and assuming your father is 60 years old.

eGFR is 54. Which is Stage 3.

Bordeeline kidney failure, not need admission but monitoring needed to prevent further worsening of kidney function.

so does this mean he will be ok with proper medication? Like diabetis you take medicine and the figure will decrease in your next test result? Also is this a sign of something serious is about to happen like death soon? Asking bcs i am working in a different state from parents. I need to know should i move back. The lab person din't give much info on how serious this situation is.

Guys I just did a blood test recently and I notice my cretinine level is quite high but still below the normal reading. Mine is 94.6 umol for a 33 year old person, is this normal or do I need to be doing something to get the figure lower down???

Are you taking creatine? It will raise creatinine levels but it does not normally indicate kidney failure in otherwise healthy bodybuilders taking creatine as a supplement.

No I am not taking any creatine. Just got me thinking if the reading is like that now at 33, what will it be in a few years time when I get older?

I can't really say that you can but better you have your father have some follow up with a doctor for better management.

You can try the klinik kesihatan if your father don't have any medical card.

And please refrain from trying any supplements especially when you dont have any form of monitoring.

You would be surprised how long it takes after your kidney has failed to show signs.

Your eGFR is 114 which is normal.

You can refer to the articel below.
https://www.livestrong.com/article/337904-d...atinine-levels/

You should be fine if you have a healthy lifestyle and if you have hypertension, keep it under control with regular exercise and low salt and fat diet.

Medications are required after exercise and diet has failed to reach the normal blood pressure levels.

Did you take the blood test in a fasted state? Eating meat will push creatinine levels up. I wouldn't worry too much about your test result if you are healthy.

I believe you need to get professional medical advice for your father. Kidney failure is a serious case whether it is to one or both kidneys. Rather than wasting time on forum, please quickly get a specialist to check your father and run relevant tests so that proper treatment can be carried out.
