Now got laser haemorrhoidectomy. (Google it, look it up on YouTube, etc)
Did it last December. Was covered by personal insurance (but check with your agents first); if employer insurance need GP referral letter.
Spent a couple nights in the hospital - one night to prepare for the colonoscopy (the stuff they make you drink for you to purge was the worst) if you haven't already done it, the next night for post-procedure observation. Doctor gave a couple weeks MC after that, some follow up appointments...
Except for the deductible and a few other items, everything else was covered.
Total bill was like RM19K-ish.
Few days immediately after was a literal PITA, but as long as you follow what the doctor and pharmacy people tell you, should be ok. Was prescribed painkiller+anti-inflammatories, ointment, spray.. a load of meds la.
My follow up appointments also was cashless, but I got lucky in that it was before AIA had some new rule about having to pay and claim for that too, so.. check with your insurance agents and/or your policies.
TBH, the worst part of the whole thing for me was the staying up the whole night before the procedure to purge for the colonoscopy. Was so sleep deprived, I conked out and woke up to find the colonoscopy was over and they were prepping me for the actual procedure.
Piles/hemorrhoids - any latest surgery invention?
