How to differentiate credit card terminal that use MST or NFC?

My phone just support NFC payment..

NFC - Paywave like function.. you'll normally see Tap logo on the terminal if it support it
MST - Magnetic Secure Transmission... it simulate a 'swiping' act on the terminal.. If the terminal got card swipe slot, then MST should work on that machine

What phone are you using...
Most Samsung phone with SamsungPay supports both NFC and MST

I see..basicall paywave will use NFC technology..

Im using cheap phone only..samsung A8 star

Yeah.. a lot of merchants has upgraded their terminal..
When paying, just ask if they accepts Paywave, then you can use your phone

Previously i tried to pay at terminal card using my samsung pay..
That time using debit card MBB... being rejected.

Somehow i thought NFC terminal not widely use in malaysia yet..

Looks like i can try again after this..

wait for led light up b4 tap for 100% success rate. some machine without led will have color screen with blinking green on top left of the screen

ya, it is impossible at all to accumulate so much of points even we started to use at gold level since day 1 until now
even for Big member, only those rich one or business traveler who frequently fly can accumulate this big amount of points

With this campaign, just convert all ur points to BIGPAY and wait next big things to redeem

But still we can't expect Samsung to give us redeem the Galaxy A9 or Note 9 at 12,000 pts (or 40k pts?)?

Simple math here. Let's say pts conversion doesn't exist in SPay.
2,000 pts x 6 months = 12,000 pts
all pts valid for 6 months only.

Mean all SPay legit users max can get 12,000 pts only.

We have yet to calculate last time purchase promotion that can get 500~2000 pts for S/Note series.
Also, we have yet to calculate the last anniversary contest double pts / extra pts.
Also Also, we have yet to calculate the promo for Bixby Voice that can crank up to how many again within 1 months time? like 20-30k pts?

Still all pts will expired in 6 months, given we at peak performance farming SPts within the Samsung Ecosystem. You can get 40,000 pts within 6 months.
So still missing 10k pts far away from 50k pts to get Galaxy A9.

Using the original method to farm pts in cheapest method:
Buy McDonald Sundae Cone at RM 1.00 = 40 pts
50,000 pts = RM 1,250.00
99,999 pts = RM 2,500.00

What I think is, Samsung should implement a way or contest or campaign or games to allow users to farm pts from Samsung ecosystem. Rather than straight convert from AA Pts toward S Pts.
Similar to Bonuslink or Binfinite or AirAsia Big. They always encourage to play games, contest, campaign, spend specific merchant to farm pts faster.

For example:
SamsungPay x Petronas
Use SamsungPay at Petronas and spend min of RM30 of anything, users get original pts and extra double pts. For example Gold Level 40 pts + 40 pts for 1 tap.

Manabox, play games and redeem for pts, like now Raya festival are good.

Those apa lame contest always got. Snap and Win, Share and Win, Buy and Win, Post and Win Samsung Pts.

Maybe they just need to hire me to be their marketing. I can do better job than the persons to introduce Samsung ecosystem toward the Malaysian.

On the side-note, this is the most annoying part. They have no specific time for redemption. Suka suka hati, 5.43PM, and then 9.30AM, and then 11.43AM.

No need frequent flyer. Those who use their credit card to do business purchases already enough. AA always have promo for points conversion plus bonus when doing conversion. Last time they were having 50% promotion. Now they are having 35% bonus.

I think if they want to do like this, might as well just give Spay user 50points for one transaction without limit and remove gold/silver/bronze levels.

Well, now SPay is like catering for BIG users already.

Genuine users get no shit although we diligently swipe 50 times a month. Feels like a complete idiot now for doing that.

Yea that why. Only abuser can redeem it.

We even help Samsung pay to promote their product and we are rewarded shit.

Random time it's okay more surprises but its their points system that is shit. You set limit then ppl can abuse over the limit.

Yea. I don't get their reward / loyalty strategy for people who mainly use samsungpay and don't fly airasia much. Maximum 2k points a month with expiring points after 6 months but the points to redeem some items are ridiculous. It's like those using samsungpay are afterthought only.

Exactly they don’t want abuser to abuse their system but they create reward only abuser can redeem.

I think maybe Samsung should seperate spay user and abuser. ie each transactions using Spay get a token. Then they can limit the token to certain amount each month. Redemption can be made using xxxxx points or xxx tokens. This would be fair to everyone.
