actually, his Q is kinda valid and i am curious to know... is it officially blocked by Maxis?

i'd like to think that a person's got limited quota and they should be allowed to use it anyway they want...

yes, with VPN, many things can be done, but still good to know officially if there is a block and it does seem like it from a few of my friends who are Maxis subscribers

just an update...

spoke to a customer service agent who was competent enough to find out the info for me...

seems Maxis have got some "limitations" for torrent applications. i was told that torrent will work from 2am to 7am. anyone with Maxis line... feel free to confirm, but ya, means need to wake up at 2am to confirm.

maxis more a feedback...
1. people already paying you for their plans. it comes with some limitations like 100mins phone calls, 100 sms, 5GB data, etc..
2. why limit further on when or how they use the calls and data?
3. users should be allowed to use it anyway they want to so long as they still have the call minutes or data quota.
4. when user finishes the call mins or quota, if they want, let the users pay for extra usage. it's fair for user and for Maxis.
5. specifically, why block torrent/ p2p? if a user has got 5GB, when they use up the 5GB in 30mins or 30 days, that is up to them. finish in 30mins, then after that, bandwidth is free for others.
6. even the 30mins when they use for torrent and completely drain their 5GB quota (example), don't tell me Maxis bandwidth is so tiny that this user will deprive others of using internet?
7. giving a customer 30GB but imposing so many limitations that they can't use up the 30GB... eventually, they will realise it's pointless and leave. or go for plans with even less data.
8. we're in information age and technology is important. please support instead of hinder.
