mine start after 6mths, starting with blended millet to check on how she accept solid. (all the food steam and blend, easy)
then slowly add in
-broccoli
-salmon (steam separately and blend together with millet)
-cauliflower
-carrots
-baby spinach (usually blanching and mix with millet to blend together
-potatos
-chicken breast
there are so many ingredient, can slowly add/mix/match yourself. no need put oil/salt/sugar because their porridge is already flavorful.
chicken egg is only given when she is over 18mths because small kids tends to allergy to eggs. wait their body system grow more mature only give them so that they can tackle the allergy easier.
I dont usually introduce processed food like those nestle or heinz or any other similar product because it's processed food and some of them have add preservative and salt. Unless really very very no choice (etc:traveling and food preparation is difficult). For this I will recommend MommyJ Baby Instant Congee (no salt no preservative), for finger food i will go for Double Happiness Multigrain/Brown Rice/Black Rice series (no salt no oil no sugar no preservative)
if you rajin enough, just buy fresh groceries and steam and blend. (if i cuti cuti malaysia, i will normally choose the homestay with kitchen, or at least have a fridge, then i'll precook and blend and freeze in tupperware bring along to travel. reach homestay put inside the fridge. heat up when needed or heat up and put in thermal pot if go out to eat)
I dont add any salt and sugar in her diet as i believe when kids grow older, they tends to intake more of those themself so no necessary to start early.
Hope my sharing helps. Happy parenting!
