Thus should't be any issue when dealing with them via online purchase..If you are concern about the packaging then best to buy directly at physical store by walk-in just to have that piece of mind..

I bought from DirectD twice. Once was a Huawei P6 in 2013. Retail price was 1,299 i think, but they were selling only 999. I opt to go to the retail store though. I checked everything and I found a dead pixel. They swapped it with a new one on the spot. that P6 lasts until 2018. At that time, you can find their phones cheaper than retail prices. Now, no longer.
The second one was Redmi 1, when it was not officially released yet. Have to buy it first, then can only check. When checked, speaker not functioning. Have to do formal RMA claim as it was not an official Malaysia release (There's no official Malaysia release at that point). Although it was swapped in ess than an hour since their RMA office is above their retail store (the one in Shah Alam I think).
One good thing though, they offer extra year warranty if you willing to purchase.
If you are considering between Malaysia release or the cheaper imported ones, be aware that the imported ones are usually custom ROMs that would not OTA update well and has chance to be bricked down. I don't whether DirectD is the one that installed the custom ROM (I doubt it) or the importer (Star Brand I think, which is more likely.). So be sure to reinstall the proper global ROM yourself.
