Hi All, I'm about to get a new car. I've read from groups and forums that if there's a problem with your new car, prior to keys handover, you have the rights to reject if there's any faults; sratch, stains, uneven assembles etc
But when i asked my Sales Advisor, he said once you register the car (which means u're assigned to the car), you can't reject or anything dy. And he claims that the registration happens before the car is transported to the branch then handover to customer.
And he said if there's any problem, i should bring it to the SC (Service centre)
Please advice.

Yup.. the car is already under your name and registered under JPJ
Bank would have start counting from the day you signed the papers, which would tag the car chasis number (iinm)
Not taking the car literally means you're leaving the car with SC from day 1

If the car is registered with JPJ in your name you can't reject. But your SA is not telling you the whole truth. The car will not be registered in your name until you pay the difference between the purchase price and the loan. If you want to inspect the car with possibility of rejection don't pay the down payment until you inspected the car even if the SA chase you for the money. He will tell you that the car will not be sent to the dealer until you pay but that is false. Once he chases you for the down payment the car is in PDI. Once it is in PDI it will be sent to the dealer no matter what.

Getting Started

It's pretty sad that there's no law to protect buyer in such case. Scratches, dented, defects will be sent for free to service center with the loss of time and car original paint.

the car will be registered under your name but the loan will only start counting once u sign the delivery order saying that you've accepted the car.
don't sign the delivery order if you are not satisfied with the car. bad scratch, things not working etc. only sign after all is fixed or delivered to you in good order.
the loan will start counting after u sign the delivery order and the dealer has sent the documents for disbursement from the bank. then it will count from that day. they will be more kan cheong to fix the problem for you if got issues

or you can ask the SA to let you inspect the car first before register. i know some people did that but still up to SA if they want to do it for you
