I wish to get a SSD for my birthday MacBook 2008, hope this will speed up my Mac.
Any recommendations? Heard about Samsung Evo.

Any new ssd would do. Since u mentioned your mb is 2008, it would be sata2. Putting a samsung evo does not benefit it.

I own late 2008 Aluminum Macbook. Since i wont benefit much from latest SSD bcoz of ours are sata 2 instead of sata 3, i bought used intel 320 series 180GB 2 pieces and make it RAID 0 in my macbook (remove optical drive). Cost me rm380 for two pieces for total of 320GB. Cheap solution but with great performance. RAID 0 gives 2 times SATA2 equal to single SSD SATA3 speed around 500MB/s
