Filming Completely Shut Down Due to Reported Leaking of Samuel L Jackson's Script

QUOTE
"I have one hard copy that I am looking to sell and I will not be making any copies, therefore exclusivity is guaranteed," the script's owner told the UK movie site.

"Considering that the release of The Avengers is over a year away this script should generate a substantial amount of traffic for the website that acquires it."

The source then provided two pictures of script pages to prove its authenticity. The document, dated March 8, carries the title 'Group Hug' and is watermarked with Jackson's name.

The Pulp Fiction star will play Nick Fury in the Marvel ensemble movie, which features Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Captain America (Chris Evans).

Wow, Hulk finally shown at 1:55...

This movie could be 50-50, might be mighty good or just plain bad. Putting 4 heroes each having their own movie(s) except Hulk is risky. It is a risky concept anyways... but just plain good to see such a thing happen.

Checking at GSC 1U for next week, available in 2D and 3D. A no brainer for me - - 2D. nod.gif I think even if the 3D was fine, I would choose 2D. Digital 2D beats 3D anytime. The clarity, the colour, the sharpness, the whole thing feels like a HD version of 'normal' cinema. 3D is grim/darker, glassy (I always feel the frame of the glasses restricts my view of the film) and your eyes keeps searching for money's worth of 3D pop-out.

Congrats... "The Avengers" does not suck. 24/25 reviews on RT are fresh, for a 96% approval. A remarkable feat to have four major superheroes in one film for an epic 2 hour 22 min of mayhem. It could have been totally the other way around. I was totally skeptical this film would work and get high praise from critics. Well done. nod.gif

i dont expect ratings on RT to be accurate..last time MI4 got 93% rating, i go to cinema with high expectation, end up dissapointed..the movie just average. btw, its all subjective..diff people diff opinion.
*
Most of the time RT is just an indication as to whether a movie sucks or not... tongue.gif There are a few "rare" occasions I don't really agree with RT and that's when Metacritic comes to play. After all, RT does not differentiate a "good score" and a "great score" - - both are considered fresh.

At the end of the day, it is up to us to decide whether a movie is good or bad... but always look at RT/Meta as an indicator. I doubt a very badly rated movie will see the light of day as being an awesome film *cough* Transformers 2/3 *cough*.

Gosh, thinking back... it all started out with just an idea of having an Avengers film and years later here it is in reality.

Those early folks lucky to see the film please give your feedback here. I also want to know if 3D is worth it or not, as I am very much towards digital 2D.

Just got back from the movie. One word - satisfying. Thoroughly, thoroughly satisfying. All the "milestones" they achieved with having multiple superheroes - enough screen time, enough action, enough drama, enough comedy, enough emotion. But not enough Hulk! OK, maybe that is me but Hulk was one of the strongest part of the film. Maybe also due partly to the absence of Hulk in any form in recent years or perhaps Mark Ruffalo did a terrific job of being a "skiddish, always afraid and on-the-edge" performance. biggrin.gif

As for the mixture of Marvel characters - - congrats Joss Whedon! I am now a fan of his films, his involvement in last week's "Cabin In The Woods" was incredible and now this. Brilliantly done. This is one film that will make every Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk fan happy. And that was, the biggest challenge of this enigmatic film.

I love the whole banter between the characters, as always, Tony Stark being the one that highlights this. Also love how they used Hawkeye and Black Widow - didn't know they had "something" going on between them. And what about Tom Hiddleston's amazing performance. Faultless.

Overall, one of the strongest (pun intended!) films of the year. This and last week's film I watched currently top the films of 2012. Interest to note is Cobie Smulders, gosh isn't she a beauty! wub.gif

9.0/10

+ Brilliant acting performances (especially Mark Ruffalo and Tom Hiddleston)
+ Brilliantly paced at 2 hr+
+ Nice brief doses of humour
+ Amazing top-of-the-league visual effects and sound effects
+ The chemistry between each character and the "combined" speciality of each put to good use
+ Screen time per-character

- I so wish we had more Hulk (I wish!)
- Drama can get a bit muddled
- Fast-paced action sequences sometimes, a bit too fast? (I was seated at the 2nd row front from!)

There is a post-credits scene. I thought I had to wait until the entire credits were over but not quite. It is about 1 minute long. No idea what it is, but Marvel fans will know for sure. I can safely say "Avengers 2" ! tongue.gif A long wait, but we have "Iron Man 3" next year.

HULK SMASH !!! rclxm9.gif I got super hyper during those sequences.

It is undoubtedly not a perfect film but putting together several Marvel big names in a single film is no easy feat. It could have been the cheesiest film of the year but it has turned out otherwise. It could also have been overly bloated and tiresome, but it wasn't. Everything about the film was brilliant. Simply put, it has turned out to be the film that Marvel fans have been craving for. A little bit of the "best" of each character put to good use however long or shot, but it was definitely effective. biggrin.gif

According to Director Joss Whedon, The original cut of the movie was over 3 hours long. There will be about 30 minutes of the excised footage included in the DVD Release, most of which revolves around Steve Rogers (Captain America). Whedon revealed that one of these scenes involved Rogers struggling to adjust to the modern world in his Brooklyn apartment and another revealed Steve Rogers' reunion with Peggy Carter, his love interest from Captain America: The First Avenger.

It doesn't deserve it at all? shakehead.gif What are you talking about... "Avatar" was a game changer. It pushed the boundaries of film-making in every possible direction and of course brought in 3D that refuses to stop until today (and even had the ripple effect on 3D TV sales, 3D gaming, etc.) Story wise, you get the idea, it can't possibly be perfect on all fronts but I seriously disagree with your statement. Not to bring in an "Avatar" discussion here, but it makes no sense what you're saying.

Malaysia where to eat shawarma? hmm.gif Is it common as I have not seen it before, or maybe I have but no idea what form it's sold.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawarma

QUOTE
In the 2012 movie The Avengers, after a battle in New York City, Robert Downey, Jr.'s character Tony Stark (Iron Man) suggests going to visit "a shawarma place a few blocks down." He quips: "I don't know what it is, but I want to try it." An after credits scene shows the main characters at the "shawarma place." TMZ reported that, as a result of this scene, sales of shawarma rose at least 80% in the Los Angeles area within days of the movie's release.

What the... so fast ?? shocking.gif

Domestic : $373,182,000
Foreign : $628,900,000

Total : Worldwide: $1,002,082,000

At this rate, if it still continues to be ever so popular, expect it to reach $1.5 billion and on it's way to become one of the highest grossing film of all time (beating $2.5 billion is a very tall order). I think it will end around $1.4-1.5 billion but I might be wrong.
