Relying on the collective wisdom of /k here.

Any recommendations on where should I go for a full body check up? I did some online search and found a few 'deals', which I don't actually know are they cheap or expensive, nor whether they provide a truly 'comprehensive test'. Purpose of test is 2 fold:

1. For old people in their 50s who want to identify any lurking problems
2. For younger people where we just want to do a biannual preventive checkup

Some links:

1. BP Healthcare:

Head To Toe Checkup
RM 1500 for single person, more if got package.

Package includes:

Head to Toe with Dexa Whatever Dexa means?!?! confused.gif confused.gif confused.gif
RM 1300 or so per person.

2. Pantai Hospital

Pantai Hospital List

3. Pathlabs

Not too much info on packages offered, here's their link

Pathlab

Edited:
Reviews of any of the places that you have been to and their performance / service? More recommendations?

I'd probably be trying for Princecourt Hospital checkup. In few more months

Any specific reason for you to be selecting there? Is it price or service quality? Also, any specific package you're aiming for?

Edited: Thanks! That website has quite a bit of info on different packages.

Their customer service is very responsive. And location.

Probably going for "Vibrant Female" package rm1100

I actually got a lot more headache when presented with more info on this. Damn, a simple body checkup can be so complicated. The more I read, the more questions I have.

That expensive meh?

I think pathlab during promotion you can get around rm200 test blood, kidney and tumour markers
*
I heard about that too, circa RM 200++. So I am confused as to what extras these full body checkup presents.

What for headache. Just go to the one nearest to you and convenient to go. And of course, got money.

Due to logistics, the people that going for these check up cannot just pop by to their nearest centre all the time. They are overseas people, so am looking up for the 'best' package in terms of coverage, service and value for money when they come.

I purchased this H2T package from BP and did mine last year. It is only half a day process.

Dexa is a bone density scanning for the whole body where you just lay flat (sleep) on a surface while the machine will scan your whole body and determine your bone density for the whole body.

Better do it in KL/PJ as other states might not have such facility.
*
I see, thanks for Dexa info. Did you pay the same price quoted on website as well? Is Dexa recommended, or is there an age threshold before one should start doing it?

You want cheap can just go to any goverment clinic for a wellness check, event University Hospital provide such service.

Truth be told if you are young, i wont advice the tumour markers or dexa.

What to screen for should be based on symptoms and risk factor.
eg DM --> Cardiovascular assesment/Renal/Opthal and so on.
*
Got both old people (circa 50 to 60) and young people (circa 30). So any recommendations? As for risk factors, I also don't know in full, hence going for comprehensive general check up.

What is DM?

Diabetes.

Just check for wellness health check up, again i don't recommend tumour markers as a screening.

Most of the packages you are listing is overkill to me.

Why no tumour?

Go to  Life Care Diagnostics at Jalan Kerinchi, Bangsar South.

I had my blood test there, the facilities and professionalism is excellent.

The prices are reasonable if you go for promotion package.

Don't go to BP healthcare, chinaman service (no good) or Pantai (too expensive)

You should pay a no obligation visit there to have a look first

Read the reviews here

Thanks, will definitely check it out. How about Pathlabs? Am asking cause there seems to be many centres around.

Go and see the facilities and prices in Life Care Diagnostic and compare with Pathlab/BP. The facilities in Life Care is almost as good as Subang Jaya Medical Hospital except that  like some people said, the waiting time is quite long. But it is better to be accurate and long rather than not accurate and fast.

Pathlab almost same as BP healthcare in terms of quality and facilities, you can google the reviews, it got very poor rating

Thanks, checked some reviews and looks decent. What about your personal experience? Are the doctors there good?

Facilities looks like very well equipped.

Facilities is definitely ten times better than BP healthcare and Pathlab which are just small clinics.

I only did my blood test packages which is around RM80 for more than 60 parameters for several years, once per year.

I didn't go for medical checkup but I looked around and most of their professional staff and doctors are Chinese.  brows.gif

Their official website has photos of their doctors.

Just go for free tour first and decide later , they have PR staff there.
