How does amway business owner earn money?

recently, a friend of mine persuaded me to join amway as amway business owner, but even when i said im not gonna start amway business, i just want to buy a producr, she still register me as her downline anyway, my question is: how is she earning by just registering me as downline? someone please enlighten me
