Yeah i knw u refer to d 1 gen honda city in japan. But SX8 model dun have in Japan. Correct me if im wrong. I mean 1 Gen is the 1 gen of Honda City 1st Gen. Thanks..

Maintainance of my car so far ok... Low FC. Engine low maintainance. So far im using this car from 1999 until now, this car dun make me any problem.

changed the auto gearbox a few months ago ("crunging" sound and end up with cannot engage) .
recent bang by sister

just try a bit, acceleration was great. If you one is manual transmission , then will be very "pick up". City body is lighter than Civic so power-to-weight ratio is good.

Sure syok when u drove it.. Erm do u know where the place to make pu bodykit at reasonable price..?

Guys, swapping a b16a unit into sx8 is it plug n play or do u have to modify the engine mountings?

i think need to modify the mounting little bit.. bcoz the B16A mounting not same as SX8 mounting... IMHO

Haha same here. In D4 i only managed 175km/h but in D3 it went up to around 185km/h. View my post in the top speed thread... Hehe...

mine up to 170KMH on penang bridge , was "playing" with Volvo S70 at midnight .
maybe he's in a rush or whatever and i just following from back .

SX8 was floating (suspension fully extend) on an uneven surface at the highway right after the bridge . then i exit the highway (to seberang jaya) and he continue his own journey (north-south highway) .

wah... u playing wiz S70..??? Dasyat... Hehe... Last time i played wiz accord.. Ok la.. Wiz fully standard suspension setup... floating.. happy throttle until 180km.. Yg Paling syok d Accord left behind.. Hehehe

how are you guys' ride fuel consumptions ?

ermm fuel consumptions?? everyday i fuel up RM20... it can go until 180KM.. OK lor for 1.5l engine.. hehe

RM50 for 400KM ++ when fresh service .
currently around 370KM engine oil already dirty and over mileage , need replacement soon .

by the way , 17x,xxx on odometer

Mine RM70-75 full tank gives me ~500km. 60% highway 40% town. 100% stock.
What mods are done to ur ride? How come 50 bucks only get 270km...

I once a while drive one of my friend's Type-Z...

I always think the Type-Z are much well equipt compare to the current generation of City...

the car more solid.... leather steering.... the BEST is.. built in Massage chair for both front seat..

How much market price for City Type Z now r?

A 2001-2002 unit selling between 35-40k would be fair. I'd ask for justification if d seller sells more then this.

There is/was a SX8 with Type Z converted front in W.Maju for sale in autoworld.com.my. Mayb s'one can ask d owner for pointers.

Ermm i think can.. bcoz it use same body code.. im also searching type-z half cut.. i need the front set headlight, bumper, fender and grill.. Still can find.. Anyone know where to find..? BTW anyone know lubang to buy halp cut side mirror for honda city??

mine juz put rear disc break..use civic eg9 punye..but still need some mods..
instruc : 4-2-1
piping : muffler 4 long dinstance(izzit my spelling rite?)
rim : black racing japan 16" with 205/45/r16 (last time use vork racing te37 japan 15"-ringan siot)
and a little bit setting in injection 2 get more power..

ermm still active but some user oni... ... Any owner of SX8.. can help me how to open the front bumper???

yeah the fog light can crack or break if hit by stone..and can i ask u all sumthing.. where the place got cheaper price spare part for our car..?? i need to change my clutch plate... may be want change to racing clutch plate if got reasonable price..

yes hit by hail stone i mean those stone found in construction site!

aiyaa.. if like that susah la.. kalo heavy rain u open the fog light will crack ur foglight.. yerterday i already change my clutch set.. it take half day to install it to my car..

My gf is driving Type Z since 2003 till now. Her father bought it for her from a friend. Nice car, the best is it's FC, much more lower than mine 1.6 (M) Neo.

I am buying a car soon. Budget allocated to this purchase would be somewhere around RM35-40k.

I am quite interested in an SX8 City for its low fuel consumption, and couldn't find much information about it. I hope you all can help me out here.

How is the ride, handling, acceleration etc? I tried googling all these but the sites are mostly about the new City's, or in Thai/Tagalog which I do not understand.

Also, are manual transmission City's available in Malaysia? If yes, are there any stock ones?

Pardon the questions, I am not very sure about Honda cars.

For your budget, d Type-Z would fit nicely. But unfortunately they only came in Auto. The pre-facelifted models (1997-2000) had 1.3 n 1.5, both available wit auto n manual tranny. Previously I did read in some forum where a Type-Z owner replaced his auto unit wit a manual from an EG, but that was long long time ago. U'll probably b able 2get those pre-facelifted models below 30k.

Just change all Oil Seal, All Filter, All Belt and all Oil...
also change Steering ball head and Drive sharp head... plus the installation charge = RM 1350.00
All my bonus is gone...!!!

But... Now is very fuel saving oh... RM70.00 can go up to 510Kms.
and today tested Drive 150Km/H the enggine still very smooth... cheer

ermm for bodykit i think better u custom it. Do at any fiber shop. Where ur from?? If ampang im not sure but if kajang.. i know some place todo..

I'm really interested in TypeZ. It's my dream to own it one day as my first car

I want to know are there several specs of TypeZ? Because, I had seen the normal TypeZ (with the TypeZ label at the back), with no label at all at the back, with only ZTi label, and there is also TypeZ label with LEV at the back.

If all above specs are different, then what is the difference, which is the best? I just know that TypeZ is VTEC and the LEV is Low Emission Vehicle.

Hi guys, I am in dilemma now. Just book a Honda City 1.5A vtec with ABS year 2002 @ RM 40,000.00. Expensive? It clocks mileage of 120k and 1 Mat Salleh owner with complete service records. Looks well maintained.

If compare this car with Proton Waja year 2004/2005 selling @ RM 35000.00 below, which one is better buy. The interior of this city looks a bit old (desk board) if compared with Waja, and Waja got good handling. Does standard Waja comes with ABS? Waja got good power and nice handling.

City owners, help me to decide this two. Thanks.

Bro, once u've placed the bookin better to look ahead. No point askin for opinions after that then cancelling and forfeiting the bookin money.

Look at it tis way. Since u did mention that it has full service history, u can almost b sure that d unit is in tip top condition. Plus, compared to a Waja, d City is unlikely to be associated with cheapo built quality, higher fc n not to mention the branding and reliability.

Personally I'd gladly trade in 'superior handling' characteristics for reliability and easier maintenence.

Just got the car. Hmm no regret at all. Well maintain by HSC. Will continue send to HSC for service too.

Just the Clarion Cd Player with Sony Speaker suck. Is the stock speaker sony ? Any recommendation to upgrade the ICE.?

Yup it is type Z. Just check the cost of labour alone for 5k and 10k interval service at HSC. It is expensive, RM 50+ and RM 120+ respectively. Should i send to HSC ? What they check for 5k service and 10K service ? Can it be done cheaply outside ?

If ur car not under their warranty.. i think the interval service can be done outside.. I think outside is more cheaper.. But beware of engine oil and oil filter that u use..
