Why did samsung put on the clause saying cant downgrade version after this update. Afraid they throttle the phone to force us to buy new ones.

Dont remember seeing it in previous update. and judging from s9 life cycle, manufacturer would want their user to upgrade. Personal opinion.

Not everytime samsung put it, just some update will put
As i read other site, it mean update bootloader version
Once bootloader updated, old version cannot flash to it anymore

Planning to buy cheap Snapdragon 855 phone to replace my S9+. I'm only missing Iris scanner. No longer want to use Samsung Pay.

Actually latest android update is no longer relevant these days. Back then, there were new features introduced which leave consumers lusting for it. Nowadays, it is more towards cosmetic upgrade. I felt like Android and the whole industry has stopped evolving ever since S8. They are literally just pushing all the speed and ram plus storage to make you feel like it will be a huge upgrade when in reality, it has reached a stale point.

Personally I think Android should just spent time evolving on tablet form since iPad is still uncontested in this category. However an iPad is still quite limited in usage and only rely on apps. Android has the flexibility to add desktop like features to once and for all replace low end desktop. Another thing is that they could make features like Samsung Dex relevant for people to dock their phone to be used in desktop environment.

one of the key purpose of system update is to make your phone secure. For those phone manage to join android 10 party should be fine. as android 10 deliver important security update via Google Play system directly. which means we do not need to wait Samsung slow movement update behavior to secure our phone from major threat!

looks to be connector issue.
if you're lucky they just re-sit the connector and should be okey.

Impacted models include the Galaxy S8, Note 8, Note 9, S9, S9 Plus, Note 10 Lite, S10 Lite, S10 Plus and all Samsungโ€™s current flagships: the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra. Sales of these smartphones top 100M units and though the scale of the problem remains unclear it is clear from the forums that this affects Galaxy smartphones shipped all over the world.

If this is connector issue, then good. Need to find Samsung service center nearby then.

If you still got warranty then better go claim now.
Did you phone got contact with water recently? Dont trust these phones water resistant especially after using for years. Recently my S8 screen also become weird after coming in contact with water. I didnt even dip it inside water, just some waterdrops splashed when watching youtube while bathing. It didnt show anything at first. Then I dismantle everything (noticed some water inside) and screen started showing up but not responsive to touches. After about 5 days or so, then the screen start showing display again but with some tint problem. Also certain area of the screen become deadzone and will not response to touches.

My wife S8+ did replace the screen before due to display issue as well. Just remembered it as well. IIRC, it all started with dim display like the display got a tint. Then will see lines like those you posted but her case still can see images. Since her set came with 2 years warranty, I just sent it in to replace screen FOC. I think it was about a year ago.

Anyway, AMOLED screen will slowly burn itself out. That is how it works. Having said that, my S6e which had a screen replacement few months into ownership still survived until today. I can see some screen burn-in though.
