Battery life seriously below my expectations, ha ha. Other than that it's not that different from S8+ in terms of form and features, but it's as smooth as the Note 8. My mistake buying it - dunno why I thought it would be any different laugh.gif

You change phone every other day of course la. For me, its a significant improvement over S7E in every single way.

QUOTE(RoyRF @ Apr 25 2018, 11:41 AM)
hi there, so it means to say that 4gb on s8+ vs 6gb on s9+ will have significant better user experience on the latter? another s9+ user said that the new exynos 9810 chip is more meant for photography enhancement. but, out of curiosity as an s8+ user of 8895 chipset, i was wondering whether the newer chipset will have better battery life.. like example, i use heavy whatsapp, telegram, gmail, yahoo, heavy calls in one day, the battery on s8+ left 17-20% by 6pm cos i thought at least at 3500mah, can last 1 half day or so.. another thing about s8+ battery is that when fully charged before going to sleep, by next morning, the battery is left with 92-93%..i dunno whether it is normal or not cos it sipped the battery quite high even on idling / sleep mode..
*
Battery life very hard to compare ler... everyone running different config... different stuffs installed.

My own case is I fully charge the phone before I sleep.... with AOD off, power saving mode on (mainly to disable background network activity) and wifi on ( "keep mobile data turned on" being off)... 7 hours overnight drain 3% battery.

But my usage especially pokemon go memang rape the battery...by ~3pm, my battery left ~40%.... I'll charge again until 90%

By 9-10pm, battery left 40-50% again.

Not sure about that. But for sure i can see huge difference btw s9plus and note8 /s8plus camera.

Samsung changed their jpeg processing. Less heavy on the smoothening and sharpening.

QUOTE(taf89 @ Apr 26 2018, 08:05 AM)

On the topic of accessories.

Gotten another case... Spigen Rugged Armor Urban.

Some observations.

The Urban version addressed a few shortcoming of the old Rugged Armor. First, while thickness is the same the Urban is cut differently so there's additional 3mm of space between tempered glass and case corner. Confirm won't lift any tempered glass.

At certain angle with the old Rugged Armor, tempered glass is higher than case coverage ie the glass will touch the floor when dropped. The Urban addressed this but only by a tinnnny bit though.

Another pet peeve with the old Rugged Armor is that the back of the case will smoothen up, turn shiny and ugly pretty quickly. I've gone through 3x Rugged Armor case (not including other cases) during the lifetime of my S7E. The texture on the Urban might help alleviate this.

And this just arrived.

Fusso oleophobic coating repair. Tried it on my S7E .... sooo smooth now.

Just wondering, is it safe to use 3rd party chargers? I know iphone is quite sensitive but how about samsung?
*
Would depend on the charger's quality no?

In addition to samsung chargers, I'm also using mine with a HTC QC2.0 charger and a QC3.0 multi-charger that I bought from 7-11.

All working nice, no overheating.

Yeah agree, battery life is really depends on how user use it and how they set their setting. Like mine, lasted more than 24 hours, since I last unplugged my phone on Tues morning at 4am and now I'm left with 29%.
I have FB, WA, Insta, Gmail, Mail and some other stuffs running background. But I usually close all before I lock my screen and notifications still coming in.

I am using this spigen case. But fake one... Lol.. Feels damn nice to hold

laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Nicest to hold is still ringke fusion imo

UAG is nice also but TBH I find the quality lacking abit.

Design/function wise its great but the molding lines on the bumper part is so rough... doesn't reflect on its price lor.

The case looks and feels solid enough for me.

There is no guarantee ur fone will survive a drop with the ori casing la.
*
IMO, already buying a 3K phone no need to save that couple of bucks buy fake products.

Later Malaysia become dumping ground for cheap fake stuffs. Wanna buy ori also kenot. sad.gif

Ya, the standby drain has improved a lot but I still find it to be a little worse compared to my S8+ previously. Not sure whether it's an Android 8.0 thing but I thought it was suppose to be more efficient laugh.gif
*
I thought u flipped ur s9 di?

On another note.. this is what happens to AMOLED screen after 3 years of auto brightness + pokemon go in the sun.

Yeah, I noticed the burn in on the top status bar, but after you mentioned that, I just zoomed in and saw the Pokeball laugh.gif

You must have spent plenty of hours catching them all, ha ha...

Yeah spent alot of time outdoors at max brightness. Especially the earlier days.. can grind pokemon go whole day until 10,500mah powerbank also finish.
