Hi... I don't see a healthcare forum here so I hope someone can help here. Anyone had a hemorrhoids operation or tie up? Any idea of the costs or if after operation any pain or complications?

i have hemorrhoids but i dont feel any pain. consulted doctor a few times last time, doctor confirmed is hemorrhoids. took daflon each time i visited doctor, he advised to take more water, vege and fruits to soften the stool. Till now, the bleed no happen frequent as last time.
Operation can cost alot, if u go for tie up, it will be cheaper. If you do laser, it cost a lot. These operation covered under insurance. Maybe you can can check with your agent if you have one.

take it from me
1. laser is a waste unless you have very severe roids or your company is paying for it, if new to this ask the doc for the rubberband to tie it up method first 2. roids are actually caused by the built up of pressure in the blood vessels around your exhaust area to relief there are many ways you can try
1. sit on ice packs for a few times a day if the roids are really swollen 2. where possible never sit but lie down on your sides, else stand or walk for 70 to 80% of the time while you are awake and do not carry heavy objects 3. use the salt\sitz bath method as prescribed by a forumer above if you dont have ice packs 4. eat lots of fiber rich foods, drink a lot of water and avoid chili and spicy foods -> very important 5. before crapping apply aloe vera gel around and inside the exhaust area to lube it. also never force it out. it need to come out naturally. if there is nothing there is nothing DO NOT FORCE IT OUT.

Doctor will suggest to tie it but wont guarantee future will not come b again if i still take spicy and fried food.

I am having recurring piles at stage 3 to 4 that I may need to have an operation if it turns worse. Done staple surgery 20 years ago but it came back due to conspitation and sometimes diarrea. Those caused stress on bowel and intestine. May you share your expeience post surgery? How long was the pain last? Between 1 to 10, what was the pain level?

Hi all...stumbled onto this topic. Just like to offer my 2sen. Both banding and laser will have relapse. Only way to reduce the occurrences are keeping the stool soft but not too soft because even cirit birit will cause hems to bleed.
Apart from lots of water, vege and fruits, for me I need to take daily dosages of Psyllium Husk. Depends on your food intake, if that meal totally no fiber, after the meal take 2 tea spoon of the husk mixed in water. Otherwise, just one teaspoon is good. Best let it dissolve in water for 5 mins, it will become like jellyish....just like chia seed...Can mixed with any other drinks as it is tasteless.
Now i live by this stuff, together with my 8th yrs old son...as he always has get hard stool, husks really helping him go toilet.
Hope this thing can help others.
