let me answer all this question.. i am 3rd year student and final year next semester..from civil engineering.

Basically UMP offered only ENGINEERING courses...BUT after changing the name from KUKTEM to UMP,the gov decided to add more courses for the students.. New faculties is being developed today..
U will be surprised when 1st come to UMP coz the campus has many "factory look alike" building..huhu..

Actually the Gambang campus is temporary. The permanent campus will be at PEKAN,pahang and in construction.

This Uni is smaller than other Elite uni coz it just 4 years old since established. Many construction is running to expand this campus.

There are many facilities here..dont worry..

The hostel in here is enough for all the students. U dont need to rent houses outside the campus. The distance here is not the problem. Coz u only have to walk to the cafe,the lab,library,and classroom. No need to take a bus.

Foods here are variety..u can choose yourself..dont worry..

Entertainment? mmm..this campus not far from Kuantan City..just 30km.. there u have Cinema,many others. Kuantan parade,Megamall,Kompleks Teruntum,and many others.
Also not forget Pantai Teluk Chempedak for leisure time..

Ratio of race is like other public uni..of course got chinese girls..lots of them..pretty enough for u..haha..

of course... the distance between classes and hostel is about 10 minutes walking...not far..even u can catch up the lecture within 5 minutes if u walk fast enough..lolz..

Yeah..all the students staying in the campus..i am the final year student and i lived in the hostel from my 1st year. Here also got Taman Gambang Perdana located within the campus and mostly for former student. a bit far if u walk but just 2-3 minutes riding motorcycle..lolz..

Internet here is heaven..24 hours..wireless and cable available..

Yeah..no need to take transport to classes..even to go anywhere in the campus..just walking.. healthier and save more budgets..

The ratio of boy and girl is balanced..but due to the courses offered here which is major in engineering,i see a lot of boys here..but girls many too..huhu..

ptptn bank account is bank islam..u can create one or you can do it in ump later..better create by yourself first..

There are 2 hostel here.. the block and Taman Gambang Perdana.. For junior they will be located at block which is 4 students per room.. For houses at taman,8 person per house (4 room each house) which is for senior student.

Mix la..no discrimination..lolz..

of course... bank muamalat and bank islam..

Internet connection here is moderate..not too fast and too slow..coz u have to share with all the students here..

Food is not expensive..cheaper than outside..

Temporary campus..but maybe a branch campus coz the main is in Pekan,pahang. In construction...

it safe la..as long as u bring along the notebook lock..lolz.. Wah..u already own a laptop eh..i only managed to get one after got the loan..huhu..

you are rite..this uni is specialist in engineering..but after changing the name,the uni has adding more courses and a few of new faculties will be developed soon.. now got 5 faculties and extra one faculty in the next student entry..

haha..why do u all must follow the rules... U can wear anything to lecture class EXCEPT:

Jeans,rounded neck t-shirt.. Must wear shoes...that's all..

If u wanna go out,u can wear anything...dont worry..

No need to come early la if you are far away..it doesn't matter if u arrived at noon.. i still remember i only managed to arrived at noon if not mistaken coz my hometown is 5 hours to ump...huhu..

no need to bring the iron and board coz the management of the hostel already provide those items..

At night u can go out but until 12am only..after that,the guard will not allow u to enter the campus until 6am..lolz..

NO NEED to wear tie and black shoe..

Just wear collar t-shirt and any shoe will do..as long as u don't wear jeans..

u have to wear tie, long sleeve (kemeja) and black shoe ONLY during the registration day..coz i also have to that before..lolz..

Mmm..if u dont have iron then just go buy new one la..loan already got rite.. here got giant,mydin,carrefour and many others.

your laptop is your own responsibilities..not only the laptop,all your belongings.. buy a laptop lock so that it cant be stolen. it is safer if u buy a PC rather than laptop..

yeah..bring your own pc is the right choice but not mobility..lolz..

Me also using PC coz i am a hardcore gamer..previously using laptop..

Maybe u can store your PC at your nearest fren's house. Or maybe just lock it in your locker for short holidays. But if Semester break,i suggest u bring along your pc home..

Roommate for juniors maybe first come first serve.. So better ready to register with your frens so that u all can be roommates..lolz..only my expectation..not confirm..

1 locker per student la.. have u ever go to any hostel previously? lolz..

Mmm..u can bring..but if the guitar is taken by the fellow that's your responsibility.. keep at your own..
